  • Yes, we work hard to reduce our environmental impact as much as possible. Our boxes, plastic meal containers, and cardboard meal sleeves are all recyclable. The recycled denim insulation is largely biodegradable (roughly 85%), the gel ice packs are non-toxic, and the plastic bags around the denim and ice packs are recyclable.   • Freshly has always developed meals using real, whole, nutrient-dense foods that are naturally gluten-free, like high-quality proteins, healthy fats, nutrient-dense carbohydrates, and veggies of course.

    We know many of our customers prefer to avoid gluten, even if they do not have an allergy or intolerance to gluten. All of the nutrients and fiber found in gluten-containing grains can be found in other grains or veggies so youdon'thave to have a sensitivity in order to enjoy our delicious, gluten-free meals.

  • Your meals will come to you fully prepared so you just have to heat em up in the microwave. On the back of each meal, youll find our easy steps for heating, but generally, the meals heat up in about 3 minutes (depending on your microwave). If youre unsure, start at 2 minutes and heat in 30-second increments until the meal reaches an inner temperature of 165 F.

    To heat the meal on a plate, simply cut or peel off the plastic film and place on a microwave-safe plate. Cover and heat for 3 minutes (you can add 30-second increments if needed until the meal reaches an inner temperature of 165 F). Let stand for 2 minutes. Stir the meal, and youre ready to enjoy!

  • The delivery time depends on your location and when our delivery partner delivers to your areayour meals could arrive anytime from 8 AM to 9 PM. Either way, we design our packaging to keep your food cold during 2 full days of shipment plus 12 hours on your doorstep.

  • In the iOS app, tap on Account, then choose Dietary Preferences. Thats where youll be able to choose the ingredients you want to avoid. Once you do, youll see a warning symbol over any meal with the ingredient youd like to avoid while youre in the Choose meals mode. You can tap on the warning symbol to view what is in the meal, or tap on the picture to view a full ingredients list.

    Stay tuned for this feature in the Android app! In the meantime, you can set your dietary preferences using a mobile or web browser.

    Just so you know, our systemisn'table to select meals that meet your Dietary Preferences for you. You should still always check each meals ingredient information, and double check your weekly orders, especially if you have an allergy.

  • Right now, wedon'thave an option to add individual meals to a plan (say, ordering a 6-meal plan but adding 2 meals to get 8 meals total). To both limit packaging waste and make sure your meals reach you safely, our packaging is thoroughly temperature-tested and designed specifically to hold a set amount of meals based on the plan.

    If youre looking for a different number of meals than our current plans offer, you can have two subscriptions active on your account at the same time. For example, you could order a 6-meal subscription and a 9-meal subscription to get 15 meals a week.Any way you do it, its free shipping.

  • Yes, sales tax may be applied to your total charge depending on the shipping address. The exact amount varies based on where the meals are shipped to, and is calculated at the time of your weekly charge.   • Our goal is to provide something for everyone, so we offer a range of nutritional values for things like fat, carbs, calories, and sodium.

    To help you find meals that meet your specific needs, we launched a tool that sorts meals by nutritional attributes. The sort tool can be found in the top left corner when editing meals in your Deliveries. Just click on individual meal pictures to view tags that indicate if they are vegetarian, soy-free, dairy-free, fewer than 500 calories and 35 grams of carbs, or contain high-protein ingredients.

    While these tools are useful if you have a specific goal in mind, if you have any pre-existing medical conditions, we do recommend that you work with your doctor or nutritionist to find which meals are right for you.

  • To make a change one week at a time:

    Once youre signed in, head over to your Deliveries and scroll down to the order you want to edit. (Weekly orders are organized by delivery date, showing your past order, current weekly order, and up to 3 orders in the future.)

    Select Change Details under the order you want to edit, and click on the "Change" link next to your delivery address. You can either select a current address or add a new one. Whatever address you choose or add will only update for that week, not for all future orders.

    To make a permanent change to your subscription: Onceyou'veupdated all available weeks showing in your Deliveries, click on the Change button underneath "Subscription Settings" within the Change Details. Click on the "Change" button next to the Delivery Address. You can either add a new address or select a new default from existing addresses. (If you add a new address, it will automatically be made the default, but you can edit this.)

    Just a reminder: adding or changing the default address in your subscription settingswon'taffect the meals in your Deliveries.

  • We make our meals in our really, really big kitchens (over 60,000-square feet!) in Phoenix, Arizona and Savage, Maryland. Our equipment is well-suited for small-batch production while still being able to make meals for lots of customers.

    2. Well deliver it fresh.We send your weekly meals to your door in a chilled box (read more about recycling the packaging here ). Youdon'thave to be home to receive your boxitll stay cold until you get home for up to 12 hours.

    3. Just heat and eat. Then repeat.Your meals can be heated in the microwave in 3 minutes. You can rate your meals when youre done so we can keep developing meals you love.

    - Cancel your subscription. (If you reactivate, youd start paying for your weekly orders again.)

  • After you place your first order, youll be charged in our system. You can head to your Deliveries to review your meal choices, delivery address, and delivery day.

    Your meals will be prepared fresh for your delivery and packed up in our chilled boxes for shipping (which takes 1 or 2 days depending on your ZIP code). Our packaging is specifically tested to keep your meals cold for two full days of transit, plus twelve hours on your doorstep. As soon as your order is picked up by our delivery partners, youll receive a tracking email so you can keep an eye on your meals (and even sign up for notifications directly from the carrier). You can also locate your tracking link under your Deliveries by selecting the Track my meals button in the top right corner.

    If youre not home at the time of your delivery, the carrier will leave your box at your front door for when you return. If you live in an apartment building, your box may be left in the lobby or a communal mail area.

    As soon as you pick up your box you can unpack the meals and pop them in your fridge. If you need any help with recycling the packaging, you can check out our instructions here.

  • Were going to drop a little science to help explain, hope youdon'tmind.

    To keep your food super fresh in transit, we use special modified atmospheric packaging, which involves modifying the composition of the internal atmosphere of a package (commonly food packages) to improve the shelf life of fresh food by 200% or more compared to packaging in air.

    The process lowers the amount of oxygen in order to slow down the growth of aerobic organisms and the speed of oxidation reactions. This process is safe and allows our meals to withstand 60 hours of travel and delivery time without using preservatives. Recycled denim insulation and non-toxic ice packs keep meals cool untilthey'readded to your fridge.

    Just a note: Its pretty common for your gel packs to arrive partially melted. As long as your meals are cool to the touch,they'reall good.

As long as youre making changes before your deadline, youll see a "Change meals" button underneath the currently selected mealsthats where you can add and remove meals.

    If youre looking to order specific meals that meet your dietary needs (like low-carb or high-protein), you can sort the meals based on certain nutritional values. The sort option can be found on the top right corner of the menu when editing meals in your Deliveries.

  • Even though our meals taste best when eaten fresh, you can freeze them if youcan'teat them by their use by date.You simply need to freeze prior to the "use by" date, and when ready to enjoy, add a couple of minutes to the heating time and reheat from frozen, without thawing. We recommend confirming that the food is reheated to 165 degrees, the same as reheating from fresh!

  • Signing up is super easy, but here are 5 things thatll help you maximize your Freshly experience.

    1. Once you sign up for your subscription, youll get a weekly delivery of your chosen meals unless you choose to skip a week or cancel your subscription. 2. Youre in control of your subscription. You can make decisions about deliveries up to 3 weeks in advance.

    3. Its easy to skip a week at any time. Going out of town? No problem. It just takes the click of a button to skip a week (or 3!). 4. Well always send you a weekly email reminder with the deadline to make any changes to your next order. Since theres so much planning involved with shipping fresh meals every week, we need 56 days before your order goes out to make sure everything gets to you in tip-top shape.

    5. We use the meals you choose when you sign up as a starting point for your future orders (when you make changes, you can set a new default menu). Since we add a new meal every week and sometimes phase out meals, make sure to review your order so every week is personalized to your needs.

  • Yes! You can send an e-gift card to a friend or family member in just a few steps.

    Head to Gifts then "Give Freshly" to choose the delivery size youd like to gift. Youll enter the recipients email address and pay one week of the plan. Your gift will cover your recipients first delivery of fresh meals. When they redeem, theyll get to pick the meals that work for them.

    Well send an email to your recipient with a unique gift code that covers a week of meals (the number you chose only), and your recipient will open a new subscription to redeem your gift (if theyaren'tcurrently a Freshly customer). Dont worry, they can skip weeks or cancel at any time. The deadline to make changes to their weekly orders will be outlined in their Deliveries and Welcome emails.

    Please note that once you enter the recipients email address during sign up, theyll immediately receive an email with their gift code. If you want to surprise them you should enter your email address for the gift, then surprise them with the unique code later.

  • You can cancel or switch your Freshly subscription at any timeyoure in control of your subscription and your account. Once you sign up for your subscription, youll receive a delivery of your meals on the weekday of your choice. Youll be charged weekly, and you can choose to skip a week or cancel your subscription at any time before your weekly deadline. You can make decisions about deliveries up to 3 weeks in advance, including editing the number of meals you want to receive, changing the address on a specific week, updating your typical delivery day, and switching out the actual meals based on what youre craving.

  • When you cancel your subscription, well send you a confirmation email. You can confirm the subscription is canceled at any time by logging into your Deliveries, where youll see a message that the subscription is canceled.

    You can select to reactivate the subscription whenever youd like to get Freshly again.

  • Once youre signed in, swipe up in your Deliveries to the order you want to change. As long as the week has not been skipped and our kitchen can still accommodate changes, youll see three dots: tap on this button and youll see a menu of options. Select Change number of meals to change your meal plan size. Whatever plan size you choose will only update for the weeks chosen, not for all future orders.

    To make a permanent change to your subscription, youll first want to update all of the weeks showing in your Deliveries tab. Then tap on Account and Manage subscription (in the Android app, you'll find "Account" in the menu located in the top left hand corner). From here you can select your new meal plan size for all future orders. This will update all weeks that are not currently shown under your upcoming deliveries (typically four weeks from todays date).

  • We understand things come up, so we make it easy to skip weeks in your subscription up to three weeks in advance! Once youre signed in, simply head over to your Deliveries and scroll down to the order(s) you want to skip, and click the Skip Week button.

    If you decide youd like to cancel your subscription, once youre signed in, head over to your Deliveries, scroll down to Change Details and click on Change under Subscription Settings. Youll see a "Cancel Subscription" link at the bottom of the page. When you click on it, well ask you a couple questions about why youre canceling and then youll be all set.

    If theres any way we can help before you cancel, contact us. Either way, its easy to come back and reactivate your account whenever youre ready.
