FTD Educação Company Overview
A FTD nasceu no Brasil, em 1902, ampliando a atuação dos Irmãos Maristas que estavam no país desde 1897 na direção de vários colégios. FTD é uma homenagem a Frère Théophane Durand, Superior Geral da Congregação Marista entre os anos de 1883 e 1907. Durante sua gestão, ele incentivou os Irmãos a escrever livros escolares para as demais disciplinas. Esses livros passaram a integrar a coleção, que recebeu o título de Coleção de Livros Didáticos FTD. Sua atitude deu enorme estímulo à produção de obras didáticas para todas as disciplinas e deixou sua marca na profissionalização dos Maristas como educadores e na expansão desse grandioso trabalho.Os mais de 100 anos pensando muito além de livros e da sala da aula inspiraram na FTD um movimento de abraçar um compromisso ainda maior: o de transformar a sociedade por meio da Educação, com a vontade de pensar além e enxergar a Educação como um momento que inspira descoberta, escolha, liberdade e cidadania.

FTD is a tribute to F rère T héophane D urand, Superior General of the Marist Congregation between the years 1883 and 1907. During his administration he encouraged the Brothers to write school books for the other disciplines.
