Executive Bio
Mr. Guilherme Mello serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Transportation - Latin America. Mr. Mello served as President of GE Transportation Brazil. He joined GE ED&C (Electrical Distribution & Control) in 1998 and move to GE Energy three years later leading substation and reactive compensation projects with South American power utilities. Since 2005, he served as the General Management at Siemens Mercosur for the Medium Voltage Switchgear business and was appointed three years later to Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Distribution Brazil Division. In August 2009, he accepted the opportunity to return to GE in Brazil to lead the GE's transportation business for the Latin America Region as President and Chief Executive Officer. In 2003, he launched a Six Sigma career leading the quality organization in South America and graduated MBB. Mr. Mello holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic School at the University of S??o Paulo and an MBA from UFMG University both in Brazil.
