Mr. Graves Tompkins has been a Managing Director, since December 17, 2014 and Global Head of Capital Partnering at General Atlantic LLC. Mr. Tompkins joined General Atlantic LLC in 2007 and served as a Vice President until December 6, 2012 and served as a Principal since December 6, 2012. He leads General Atlantic's global capital partnering effort working closely with leading families, foundations, endowments, and institutions around the world. Mr. Tompkins has worked across the business services, healthcare, and financial services sectors and has developed expertise in asset management, capital raising, and co-investments. He has also been active in the energy and resources, business services, financial services, and the healthcare sector. Mr. Tompkins worked at The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., where he focused on principal investments across a broad range of sectors. During his time at graduate school, he work in the merchant banking division as a Summer Associate at General Atlantic as well as McKinsey & Company, Inc. He co-founded the New York chapter of Room to Read. Mr. Tompkins serves on the Boards of Summer Search New York; WNET, the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, Oak Hill Advisors; and The Harvard Business School Club of Greater New York, Inc. He is a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations. He is the founding Co-Chair of the Alumni Council at Harvard's Center for Public Leadership. Mr. Tompkins was previously a David Rockefeller Fellow through the NYC Partnership. He has expertise in Asset Management, Capital Partnering and Co-Investments. He is a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum. He was named to GrowthCap's list of 'Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors.' Mr. Tompkins earned an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School, where graduated with high honors, an M.P.A. from the Harvard Kennedy School, and an A.B. in Politics from Princeton University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
