Mr. Rene Marc Kern serves as a Managing Director of General Atlantic LLC. Mr. Kern joined General Atlantic in 1996 and is responsible for leading its capital partnering efforts in Latin America; Financial Services Sector. He oversees General Atlantic's Resources Group. He oversees General Atlantic's value add resources, including Operating Partners, Resources Group and Special Advisor and Advisory Director programs. From 1996 to 2002, he headed General Atlantic's European activities, leading several new investments and building a team of senior professionals and advisors. Since joining General Atlantic in 1996, he has served in a number of leadership roles in North America, Latin America and Europe. From 2002 to 2007, he led the General Atlantic's Financial Services sector. During that time, he also helped build out General Atlantic's business in Brazil. He spent six years at Morgan Stanley, where he was a Vice President in the Investment Banking division. He served as a Management Consultant at Bain & Company Inc. He serves as Chairman of the Board of MeteoGroup Limited. He serves as a Director of Amedes Group. He serves as a Director of tradeMONSTER / OptionsHouse. He serves as a Director of Brazilian Mercantile and Futures Exchange and Global Electronic Trading Company. He serves as a Member of the Supervisory Board of Digiquant A/S, Roskilde, Denmark and S.E.S.A. Software and Systeme AG. He is a Member of the Board of Trustees of Greenwich Academy.
