Mr. Stephen Ballas has been Executive Vice President at Global Eagle Entertainment Inc. since September 2016 and has been its General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since April 11, 2016. Mr. Ballas served as Senior Vice President of Global Eagle Entertainment Inc since April 11, 2016. He held a successful and impressive track record in corporate law, served as a Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for CBRE Group, Inc., since 2013, where he managed CBRE's mergers-and-acquisitions, securities law, corporate finance and corporate governance functions. Prior to that, he served as Senior Counsel for CBRE Global Investors from 2011 to 2013. He served as Vice President of Credit Business, GSO Capital Partners, the credit investment arm of The Blackstone Group L.P. from 2010 to 2011. Mr. Ballas was an Associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he served five years as a corporate associate. Mr. Ballas focused on private equity and mezzanine investments in the energy industry. Prior to joining GSO Capital in 2010, Mr. Ballas was senior counsel at TPG-Axon Capital, where he worked on legal matters involving GSO Capital's public market and private transactions from 2007 to 2010. Mr. Ballas received a JD, cum laude, from Georgetown Law School and a BA (Economics), magna cum laude from Duke University.
