Mr. Luis A. Rivera, also known as Ruiz, MBA, has been an Executive Vice President of Americas Region at Gold Fields Ltd. since October 1, 2016. Mr. Rivera has 21 years experience in mining operations and projects. He joins Gold Fields from MMG, where he served as a General Director of Operations and ran the Las Bambas operation in Peru. One of the key accomplishments in his career was taking the Antapaccay project in Southern Peru from exploration stage through to operation in 2012, as well as his engineering leadership of the Minera Alumbrera mine in Argentina, which he took from construction to a steady and efficient operation. He is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He is a Geological Engineer at San Marcos Major State University, Peru; Engineer License at Peruvian College of Engineer. Mr. Rivera received an MBA from University of Madrid, Post-Graduate Degree in Environmental Mining Legislation from University of Tucuman, Argentina.
