Mr. Protell spent nearly 20 years in corporate advisory and investment banking, covering the gaming, lodging and leisure sectors. Mr. Protell served as a Managing Director at Macquarie Capital's investment banking group since May 2011 and as Co-Founder and a Managing Director at REGAL Capital Advisors from January 2009 to May 2011. Prior to co-founding REGAL Capital Advisors, Mr. Protell served various investment banking roles at Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and CIBC World Markets. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategy Officer at Golden Entertainment, Inc. from November 2016 to January 18, 2017. Mr. Protell acted as advisor to Golden Entertainment's predecessor companies in various capacities since 2010. He acted as advisor to Lakes Entertainment in the merger transaction with Sartini Gaming, which created Golden Entertainment in July 2015. Mr. Protell acted as advisor to Sartini Gaming on various initiatives, including its acquisition of distributed gaming operations and casino assets from Affinity Gaming. Mr. Protell earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree from the University of Virginia.
