Executive Bio

Jennifer Carter has led the Goodwill mission in Michigan and Georgia since 2003, before joining Goodwill Central Texas in 2017 as Vice President, Workforce Advancement. In June 2021, she was promoted to Chief Mission Officer.

Ms. Carter believes that work can be a vehicle for living your life’s purpose and thrives on seeing people realize their full potential. As Chief Mission Officer, she’s responsible for developing and implementing workforce programming that empowers individuals to find, keep, and advance their careers. Ms. Carter currently leads Workforce Advancement, Team Member Services, and the Goodwill Career & Technical Academy.

A 2015 graduate of Goodwill Industries International Executive Development Program, Ms. Carter is passionate about leadership development and organizational development and design. She has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University with a concentration in Policy, Planning, and Administration and is also a Certified Professional Coach.

During her off hours, Ms. Carter enjoys working out and spending time with her husband and daughters.
