H. Brian Thompson — Founder and Executive Chairman at GTT Communications

Mr. H. Brian Thompson has been the President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman at Universal Telecommunications Inc. since 2000. Mr. Thompson Heads his own firm, Universal Telecommunications, Inc., in Vienna, Virginia. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Global Telesystems Inc., from March 1999 to September 2000 and served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LCI International Inc., from July 1991 to June 1998. He served as an Executive Vice President of MCI Communication from 1981 to 1990. He had responsibility for Sonus Networks Inc.'s eight operating divisions, including MCI International. Mr. Thompson spent his early career as a Management Consultant with McKinsey & Company. He served as the President of Subscription Television of America. He has been an Executive Chairman of GTT Communications, Inc. since October 2006 and its Executive Director since January 3, 2005 and is its Founder and served as its Chairman since January 2005. He served as the Chairman of Comsat International, Inc., a privately-held independent telecommunications company operating throughout Latin America, from December 2002 to June 2007. He serves as the Co-Chairman for the Americas and Commissioner of the Global Information Infrastructure Commission, Chartered in Brussels in 1995. Mr. Thompson served as the Chairman of Global Telesystems Inc., from March 1999 to September 2000. He served as the Chairman of the Irish telephone company, Telecom Eirann, since 1999. He served as Vice Chairman, Qwest Communications International Inc., from June 1998 to December 1998. He serves as Lead Director at Penske Automotive Group, Inc. He has been an Independent Director of Penske Automotive Group, Inc. since March 2002, Microdyne Corporation since 1991 and Bell Canada International Inc., since October 1997. He has been a Director at Pendrell Corporation since May 1, 2007. Mr. Thompson served as the Director of Comsat International, Inc. Mr. Thompson served as Director at NTL (Triangle) LLC. He served as an Independent Director of Sonus Networks, Inc. since October 28, 2003 until June 09, 2016. He served as a Director at Arraycomm LLC. He served as a Director of Axcelis Technologies Inc. since 2002 until May 2015. He served as a Director of DynCorp Inc. since 1999 and Golden Books Family Entertainment, Inc. He served as a Director of Williams Communications Group Inc. since 1999. He is also a Trustee of Capitol College in Laurel, Maryland. He also serves as a Member of the Irish Prime Minister's Ireland-America Economic Advisory Board for Ireland's Department of Public Enterprise. Mr. Thompson received his M.B.A. from Harvard's Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.
