View ArticleSome babies do best when the beds level is locked on a slightly higher levelall night. Locking SNOO is like putting a car on cruise control. It fixes SNOO on a single level, keeping it from going faster or slower.
Simply, turn SNOO on, then use the App to advance to the levels to purple or green. Now, touch the Pause button on the screen of your device for 5 seconds. When you remove your finger you will see that a lock icon has appeared.
To unlock, simply change the beds level of activity with the App or the activity button on SNOO and the bed will return to the normal functioning.
Note: SNOO will not respond to your babys cry while it is "locked."
View ArticleOne parent-favorite setting is the Motion Limiter. Its used for preemies and babies under a month oldwhen higher levels of motion are usually not neededor for any baby who doesn't seem to like faster, jiggly motions.
Simply go to Main Menu, then Settings, then My SNOO and toggle on the Motion Limiter.
With Motion Limiter, SNOOs white noiseand the color of the activity buttonwill still increase to Level 4, but the motionwon'tgo higher than Level 2 (green).
A circle around the letter M in the upper right corner of the App dashboard indicates when the feature is on.
View ArticleTo enable the Weaning feature, go to the Mobile Apps Settings menu and select My Baby. Toggle the Weaning feature on. If the toggle is blue, Weaning is on.
View ArticleYes! Open the App and go to Settings. There you will find one called Responsiveness. That will allow you to make SNOO less sensitive to non-crying sounds, like snorts or sneezes. (You can also increase the sensitivity if SNOO is reacting too slowly to mild fussing).
View ArticleThe SNOO password is the App-generated password thats unique to your SNOO device. Youll need the SNOO password to pair your mobile device to your SNOO.
If the SNOO Appisn'taccepting your SNOO password during pairing, reboot SNOO by unplugging it from the wall outlet and plugging it back in. This should resolve the issue and enable you to continue with pairing your mobile device to SNOO.
Please make sure you have the latest version of the App. The latest is always available from the the Apple App Store or Google Play.

View ArticleYes, but you will need to set up your SNOO with the new wireless connection. To do so, go to Main Menu> Settings> My SNOO> Set Up> Change Network and follow the App instructions.
View ArticleIt can be easier for a naked baby to Houdini their arms out of the swaddle. A long sleeve shirt or onesie can often help solve this problem! If that doesn't work, please try the suggestion below.
Follow the steps below for keeping your baby snugly swaddled. Doing so will improve sleep!
First, lay your baby down on a folded thin blanket or cloth diaper, with the SNOO Sack laid beneath her (unzipped).
Then, fold one side of the blanket over your baby's arm and underneath her body.
Repeat on the other side.
Now, the blanket secures both of your babys arms down. Pull the SNOO Sacks bands across the chest, keeping your baby's arms straight at the sides. Make sure the band is snug and down over of the hands (watch our video tutorial to see this in action).
Lift the bottom of the SNOO Sack up and around her feet and zip the zipper all the way to the top. Your baby is now snugly in her sack and ready to be placed in her SNOO!
View ArticleThe SNOO app makes your SNOO experience even more fun!
It lets you customize SNOO to your babys preferencesfor less crying and more sleep!
You can control SNOO (and take a peek at how your baby is sleeping) from anywhere.
When your babys sleep hits a rough patch, you can boost the motion/sound to quickly get your baby back on track. (Contact our sleep consultants at [email protected] for more tips. Were here to help7 days a week!)
If youdon'thave the app already, download it today from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Heres a rundown of our most popular features (click on any link to learn more):
Motion Limiter For babies whodon'tneed/like too much jiggling.
Most newbornsdon'tneed much motion. So, we recommend trying the first month with the motion limiter setting on. (It allows SNOO to respond to cries with increasing soundall the way to the max level if neededbut limits motion to just moderate rocking.)
Preemie Gives gentler rocking to tiny babies.
When you toggle on the Preemie setting in the My Baby section, that turns on the Motion Limiter, blocking the higher levels of jiggle. Once your baby reaches his/her due date, SNOO sends a notification to toggle the Motion Limiter off.
Level Lock Improves sleep if your baby wakes too often.
Baby sleep is a rollercoaster! Better for a few weeks, then zooming down into chaos when your baby struggles with a cold, teething, growth spurt or sleep regression. Parents are often told to take the baby for a car ride, but locking does the same thing, without you ever leaving your bed. Turn on SNOO, raise it to purple (level 1) or green (level 2) then touch the pause button on the phones screen for 5 seconds. A little lock icon will appear on the screen and the bed will stay at that speed until you change it.
Increase Baseline - For babies who sleep better with higher motions and sounds
Most babies sleep great on SNOO's baseline level (blue), but many sleep better with a bit more motion + soundall night long! Increasing the baseline to Level 1 (purple) or Level 2 (green) all night for a few weeks can often get the baby back into a better sleeping pattern if they are dealing with regression or even a little cold. With this feature, SNOO's motion will start on your desired level (1 or 2) and level back down to level 1 or 2.
Response Makes SNOO more responsive to soft cries or less responsive to Loud grunts.
It allows SNOO to respond faster to soft cries or delay a bit if the baby is grunting, but not crying.
Sleep Log Automatically tracks and diagrams your babys 24/7 sleep.
Youll love this cool, daily sleep display. Fun to share!
Weaning The easy way to help your baby transition to a crib.
This setting lets sound continue all nightbut only allows motion if the baby criesto help your baby prepare to move to a crib. Most babies are ready to start weaning off of the rocking by 5-6 months.

View ArticleIts easy. Just follow these steps:
Swaddle your baby in the SNOO sack.
Open the sack and inner bands and lay your baby down (place your babys shoulders2-3 higherthan the neckline of the sack).
Close the inner bandvery snugly! The bottom edge should cover most of the hand, just leaving the fingers exposed. (If the band is too high on the arm, the neckline may ride up onto the babys chin.)
Now, snug the top of the sack up and over each shoulderand zip the sack completely. (The neckline should now be well below your childs chin.) Click to watch our video about swaddling.
Upon laying your baby in SNOO, always ensure your childs safety bysecuring the swaddle to the bed (every time, whether SNOO is on or off). Just slide the loopon the end of each swaddle wingover the safety clips on each side of the platform.
Press the activity button on the front of SNOO. The button will blink white for about a minute as the beds computer boots up. Once it stops blinking, push the button. The light will turn blue and SNOO will turn on. (Lightwon'tstop blinking? SNOOwon'tturn on? Thats usually because the wing loops are not slipped completely onto both safety clips.)
When your baby fusses, SNOO will wait a few seconds before responding, to allow her to self-soothe. If the crying continues, SNOO will go slightly faster and louder. The bed will move through 4 levels of higher sound/motion, until the fussing stops or SNOO automatically stops. (It times out after a couple of minutes of continued crying.)
Another way to increase the level of sound/motion is to push the activity button for several seconds. As you continue to push, the button will change color and SNOO will go to the next level. You can repeat this until SNOO reaches the 4th and highest level (orange/pink). You can also boost the level of your SNOO with the SNOO Mobile App.
To stop SNOO, simply push the activity button once. To reduce the level of activity, you must use the SNOO Mobile App. Or, simply wait and SNOO will reduce its levelstep by step over the next 5-10 minutes.
Note: SNOO usually calms fussing within 60 seconds. So, if your baby cries for longer than a minute you can assume she needs a feeding, diaper change, cuddle or other help. You do not need to wait for SNOO to stop itself.(It automatically stops after a couple of minutes of fussing.)

View ArticleThe SNOO sound has been specifically crafted to soothe your baby. When the baby is upset and needs more soothing, it increases in intensity and when the baby is calming, so does the sound. Just like you would do it Although the sound may seem loud at the highest level, its well below what the baby would experience in the womb. In fact, a babys own cry is even louder than SNOOs highest setting! Parents often notice that their baby soothes best with slightly quieter - or slightly louder - sound. Therefore, we provided a volume control (in the app settings) so you can easily adjust to the level your baby prefers.

View ArticleWatch how to place your baby in SNOO and engage the safety clips:
View ArticleSNOO has a special feature, just for preemies! With the Mobile App, youll be able to restrict SNOOs motion to the first 2 levels, until your childs original due date is reached.
To engage the Preemie feature, go to the My Baby tab in the Apps settings and toggle the Preemie button to let SNOO know your baby was born prematurely. Then enter the number of weeks your baby is premature and begin using your SNOO. The Motion Limiter will automatically engage. White noise will cycle through all levels to soothe your baby, but SNOOs motion will not move past level 2.
On your babys original due date, we will notify you that its time to turn off the Preemie feature. Once you do, your baby can enjoy the soothing motion of all SNOO levels.
View ArticleSNOO often calms fussing within 40-60 seconds. So, if fussing stops quickly as SNOO increases the motion/sound, your baby just needed a little more soothing and is not very hungry.
However, if the crying is continuing for more than a minute, it usually means your baby needs some helpa feeding, a diaper change, a hug etc.
You definitely do not need to wait for the bed to time out and stop itself. Trust your instincts!
View ArticleGreat question. When we sleep we all have cycles or waves of deeper and lighter sleep. Each cycle of your babys sleep lasts about 60 minutes (yours is more like 90 minutes). In light sleep, some babies are awakened by outside stimuli (room temperature that is too hot or too cold; the sound of the TV or a passing truck) and others by internal stimuli (a little gas, hunger, teething pain, etc.)
During the first month or two, babies who wake up hungry cry for food and will only calm by feeding. But some babies wake not because they are hungrybut as a natural part of the sleep cycle. And these babies are usually lulled back to sleep quickly by SNOO.
By 2-4 months of age, your baby may become much more social. If he wakes during the light sleep part of the cycle at 3am, he may call for you to keep him company or even to play.
For these alert, playful babies, SNOOs blue baseline level may be too gentle and slowtoo boring! They prefer a bit louder shushing and more jiggly rocking to keep them asleep. These are the babies who love to sleep in carsjust the way some of us adults fall asleep in trains, buses and planes.)
To help your baby not wake in light sleep, but rather dive back down for another 1-2 sleep cycles, check the following:
Make sure the arms are staying snuggly swaddled
Make sure your baby feeds a lot during the day (growth spurts may wake a baby up too)
Try increasing the baseline motion/sound of the bed a level or twofor overnight sleep
Its easy to set SNOO on a higher baseline. Simply go to Settings > My SNOO > SNOO Starts on... and select the new baseline you would like for SNOO.
If locking helpskeep SNOO at a higher level for all naps and nights for 2-3 weeks. Then, see how your child does again when returning to the blue baseline level.
View ArticleWhen newborns start in SNOO, it usually takes just 1-2 days to begin to see the benefits (less fussing and more sleep). Babies older than 6 weeks take a little longerusually 3-7 days. (Use SNOO for naps and nightsright from the start. The more your baby uses it, the faster shell learn...and the better results will be!)
Babies over 1 month of age may need 3-7 days to adjust to SNOO. However, if your babyisn'tsleeping better by the 5th day, please call us at 1.855.424.6323! Weve helped thousands of babies to sleep great in SNOO.
Some Top Tips
Pick your baby up if shes not soothing. Most babies calm as SNOO increases through its levels. Babies who cry for more than 60 seconds are usually hungry or uncomfortable (even if they fed within the hour!) Your SNOO automatically shuts off after a couple of minutes of crying, but most parents pick up and comfort their babies if the fussing continues despite the bed reaching its top level.
Swaddle the arms snugglydown. Some babies seem to hate swaddlingbut babies who are wrapped with their arms up tend to startle and wake up more often. If your baby can sneak her arms free, please follow these helpful tips.
Check if your infant is hot, cold or needs help. When SNOO doesnt calm your baby within a minute or so, thats a sign your baby needs you! She may be hungry (even if you just did a feeding within the hour), need a clean diaperor just want a cuddle! Youll want to take care of these needs before putting your baby back in SNOO.
Make sure your infant is well fed. A full tummy is key to great sleep! Offer a bit more breast milk or formula. Also, make sure youre alternating breasts every 5-7 minutes when feeding to maximize your babys intake. (Some experts recommend keeping a baby on one breast for 20 minutes, but we believe that leaves the other breast fulland doesnt give a full feedingeven though babies get so tired they fall asleep.)
Lull her to sleep in your armsuntil she adjusts. Some babies benefit from being placed in SNOO already asleep, after having been swaddled and rocked in your arms (with strong white noise playing). After 2-6 weeks, most babies become ready to be put in SNOO drowsy but awake.
Bump up the motion. For some babies, SNOOs lowest level, blue, is a bit too slow and boring. These babies do best with more sound + motion. Think of it like driving your car all night on a bumpy road to soothe your baby, but without ever having to leave your cozy bed.
Its easy to up SNOOs motion with our App. You can choose to change the baseline or lock SNOO on a higher level. The first will still allow the bed to react to crying with more vigorous levels of rhythmic sensation, whereas locking it will keep it on the level you choosesort of like cruise control in your car. (If your baby was sleeping well, and suddenly is not, click here for advice.)
Make it noisier at bedtime. It may seem counterintuitive, but many babies need pretty loud sound to chill out and fall asleep. (Babies are great at falling asleep at noisy parties!) You can download our Happiest Baby hair dryer sounds (some babies actually do best with an actual hair dryer!). Keep the hair dryer on the cool setting and hold it at least a foot away from your SNOO with the air directed away from the baby.
Try a paci at sleep time. Many infants soothe by sucking. (If youre nursing, wait a week or two to make sure the breastfeeding is well established before trying a paci.) If your baby keeps dropping the pacifier, try Dr. Karps reverse psychology trick to teach her how to keep it in longer.
Tips for Babies 8 Weeks and Older If your baby hasnt adjusted yet to her new bed, don'tworryolder infants often need a little extra time and patience to adjust.
If your baby gets upset when placed in SNOO, try giving a short massages (3-5 minutes) in his SNOOthen take her out. Repeat that several times a dayfor a few daysto give your baby some happy experiences in the bed and start building a more positive relationship.
It can also help to swaddle your baby, and thenwhile still cradling her in your armsplay a strong white noise for 10-20 minutes, to help her relax before placing her in the bed.

View ArticleUsually, the answer to this is Yes!
Its true that the more often your baby sleeps in SNOO, the faster she will learn to be a great sleeper. In general, napping outside of SNOO at daycare will not stop it from being effective for night/weekend use. We recommend that - at daycare - your infant still sleep swaddled and use Happiest Babys white noise (which can be purchased on CD or as a streaming file ) when shecan'tbe in SNOO.
If your infant can roll, you must have both of the arms out of the swaddle for safety reasons, because they won't have SNOO's clips keeping them from rolling into an unsafe position.
View ArticleIt's common for new babies to resist swaddling. It can make you think, My baby hates to be wrapped! Of course, you would probably hate to be swaddled, but adults would also hate to live in a womb for 9 months or to drink milkas their only foodfor every single meal, but babies love all of this.
Moms in cultures all around the world have swaddled their sleeping babiesarms downfor thousands of yearsbecause it works! Remember, babiesdon'treally need freedomthey need to feel snug and secure like they did in the womb. That's why we naturally cuddle babies snugglyand use our arms to keep them from flailing about. (We literally swaddle them with our arms!)
Here are a few tips to help your baby settle if she doesnt love being wrapped:
Swaddle very snugglyarms down: When your baby is awake, its fine to keep the arms out (or swaddled with arms bent up), but during sleep that will lead to more startles and accidental whacks to the faceand more waking. View our video for proper swaddling in SNOO.
If your little Houdinis arms sneak out of the inner bands or bend up at the elbowsleep will usually fall apart. Check out our swaddling trick to help you keep her arms from sneaking out.
Swaddle before feeding:After a feeding, there is a good chance your baby is feeling relaxed and cozy. Sometimes, swaddling your baby can stir them awake again. Try swaddling in the SNOO sack before feeding your baby. This can help prevent them from being stirred awake after their feeding and can also create a positive association with being swaddled.
Do a little calming routine. After you secure your baby in the SNOO Sack, here are a few things to help her relax and settle:
- Play a strong white noise in the background (about as loud as a shower)
- Do a feeding
- Rock and cuddle your baby (its fine if she falls asleep in your arms) before placing her in SNOO
- Offer a paci
- Once down, immediately boost SNOO to the purple or green level (manually or with the App ). This added motion/sound often helps babies settle.
Lock SNOO on a higher level. Some babies find the normal blue baseline level too boring. They like it when SNOOs level is increased, but fuss when the bed cycles back down. Try locking SNOO on the purple or green level and keeping it there all night. (Its like lulling your baby to sleep by driving her in your car all nightbut safer and less polluting.)
Swaddling is key to good sleep, but it is just the first step of getting your baby ready to calm. Once your babys arms are snug and down, she can better focus on the rest of the 5 Ss (sound, motion, sucking, side/stomach), which turn on the calming reflex and soothe your babys fussing.
So, while your baby may fuss at firstswaddling is super valuable for 98+% of babies, and the benefits are huge!
View ArticleDo you have trouble getting your little one to initially fall asleep in SNOO? Here are a couple of top tricks that may help.
Try swaddling in the SNOO sack before bedtime feeding.
Babies get very sleepy right after a feeding (like we all do)! They can sometimes be roused a bit when being swaddled and placed in SNOO. It can help to swaddle your baby before feeding. This will prevent them from being roused during the swaddling process and can also create positive associations with being swaddled.
Level SNOO up temporarily when you first place your baby in SNOO.
The extra motion can help soothe your baby to sleep. You can level SNOO up by holding the activity button on the front of SNOO or using the app. SNOO will slowly level back down to baseline.
View ArticleNewborns lose weight in the days following birthoften poundor a bit more! No wonder they need to eat so often. Within a couple of days, most breastfed babies eat 10-12 times/day and formula fed babies take 7-8 bottles/day. Your little one will tell you when shes hungry by rooting (opening her mouth and turning towards anything that touches her cheeks), getting more active and cooing or fussing (that doesnt calm by SNOO or the 5 Ss ).
Note: Some babiesespecially those with jaundiceget extra sleepy and may skip feedingsand even get dehydrated. The signs of dehydration are a sticky tongue (not wet with lots of drool) and reduced urine that is dark yellowor pink.
In general, its best not to let your new baby sleep more than 4 hours at a time (day or night) to ensure shes eating enoughuntil she gets back to her birth weight. (If she is pretty hard to rouse or refuses 2 feedings in a row, give your doctor a call.)
Once your baby is over her birth weight and peeing and growing well (this rarely takes more than 5-10 days), you can let your baby sleep longer stretches. At this time, its a good idea to boost calories while the sun is up. During the day, Dr. Karp suggests trying to wake breastfeeding babies every 1.5-2 hours for a feed. Most babies do best when moms alternate breasts while nursing (back and forth)5-7 minutes on the first side, then switch to the other and stay there or come back for one more time on the first. But, your health care provider may have his/her own preferred approach.
Formula-fed babies usually feed every 3-4 hours during the day and night for the first few weeks.
View ArticleYes! You can control more than one SNOO with the App. There are 2 ways of doing this: 1. To use the App on one device you will need to use different log ins when controlling each SNOO. 2. To control each individual SNOO at the same time you can use multiple devices, signing in on each device with a different log in.
View ArticleTheres no rush! Some parents have heard they need to wean before the baby gets dependent on the rocking and sound. But, weaning too early actually removes the valuable support SNOO offers to prevent later sleep problems, like the 3-4 month sleep regression, disrupted sleep from teething, etc. We recommend you not start weaning 5-6 months. (Note: Even if your babys toes touch the bottom of the bed, its still advised to wait until 5-6 months.)
The SNOO App will notify you around 5 months to consider weaning and again a couple of weeks later. Be sure to input your babys correct birthdate in the App so we can notify you on time.

View ArticleIts common for newborns to wake every 2-3 hours to eat (4 hours tops). And, by 4-8 weeks, babies can go longer and longer.
In fact, if your 1-month-old is still waking ever 3 hours at night, it may be a sign of a growth spurtbut it may also be because shes not getting enough milk during the day. The latter can happen if a mom is not making enough milk (check with your doctor) or if the baby only nurses from one breast during a feed; gets too distracted during the meal (the sights and sounds of the day are too exciting); or naps more than 2 hours at a time.
Here are some things you can do to help your baby sleep longer at night:
Offer more daytime feedings and alternate breasts every 5-7 minutes.
Reduce distractions during feedings.
Try a dream feed.
If your baby is fussy within an hour of a meal, feed her againshe may need a little more milk.
Wake your baby for a feed if the nap is lasting more than 2 hours. (You can let him fall right back to sleep after the meal.)
View ArticleYour familys health and safety are our top priorities! Thats why every SNOO rental undergoes a rigorous 5-step process (thoroughly inspected, cleaned, sanitized, refreshed and certified) to ensure that your SNOO functions perfectly, is fully sanitized and, of course, is 100% bug-free.
In addition, your SNOO comes with totally new soft goods - just for your baby, including an organic cotton sheet, 3 award-winning swaddles (small, medium, large), a new mattress and a water-resistant mattress cover. And to show our appreciation, all of those are yours to keep, even if you only rent for 1-month!
When it comes to bed bugs, each SNOO undergoes a high-pressure, super-heated steam cleaning to sanitize the inner and outer mesh (the steam is lethal to insects and bacteria). The steaming is followed by a comprehensive disinfection using Cavicide and hydrogen peroxide to thoroughly clean all SNOO surfaces, including the platform, underside, mesh, activity button, power adapter, legs, feet and cords. (Both disinfectants are used by hospitals and NICUs to eradicate bacteria and viruses.)
Our promise is that your rental will arrive at your home with all new bedding, in excellent condition.
