Executive Bio

Mr. R. Tony Tripeny has been the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Corning Incorporated since September 1, 2015 and since April 2009 respectively. Mr. Tripeny is the chief steward of Corning's financial health, overseeing the finance and Investor Relations functions. He served as Vice President of Corning Incorporated since October 2005 and served as its Principal Accounting Officer from April 2009 to August 2015. In this role, he was responsible for the accounting, analytical services, business control and tax functions and co-led the global finance organization. He served as Corporate Controller of Corning Incorporated from October 2005 to August 2015 and also served as Division Vice President and Operations Controller. For the last over 25 years, he held a variety of leadership positions for Corning. He served as a Division Vice President and Operations Controller of Corning Cable Systems from August 2004 to 2005. He joined Corning Cable Systems in 1985 as the Corporate Accounting Manager. In March 1989, he moved to Texas to work in the Corning Cable Systems' Keller facility as the Plant Controller. In January 1993, he was appointed Equipment Division Controller of Corning Cable Systems. He relocated to Hickory in 1996 as the Corporate Controller. He was Chief Financial Officer of Corning Cable since July 2000 and added the additional responsibilities of Group Controller of Telecommunications in February 2003. Prior to Corning, he spent four years with GKN Automotive in various finance roles. He has been an Independent Director of Hardinge Inc. since February 14, 2012. He is a Member of the Financial Executives Institute and the Institute of Management Accounting. Mr. Tripeny holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.
