Paresh Sukthankar — Deputy MD & Executive Director at HDFC Bank Limited

Mr. Paresh Sukthankar has been Deputy Managing Director of HDFC Bank Limited since December 24, 2013 and its Executive Director since October 12, 2007. Mr. Sukthankar has been with HDFC since its inception in 1994 and has played an integral role in shaping HDFC Bank into one of India's leading financial institutions. He has over 30 years of experience in the area of banking and has made key contributions to the HDFC in the areas of credit, risk management, finance, human resources, investor relations, corporate communications, corporate social responsibility and information security. He was appointed as the Executive Director on the HDFC's Board in October 2007 and, in June 2014, Mr. Sukthankar was elevated to the post of the Deputy Managing Director. Mr. Sukthankar worked in Citibank for approximately nine years in various departments including corporate banking, risk management, financial control and credit administration. Furthermore, Mr. Sukthankar has been a member of various committees formed by the RBI and the Indian HDFC's Association. He graduated from Sydenham College, Mumbai and holds a bachelor of commerce degree from University of Mumbai. He did his master's in management studies at the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute (Mumbai). Mr. Sukthankar also completed the advanced management programme at the Harvard Business School.
