Mr. Watanabe serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of Healthcare Company. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Hitachi Information & Telecommunication Systems Global Holding Corporation, a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. and served as its Chairman since April 2014. He served as Chief Information Officer of Information & Telecommunication Systems Company for Information & Telecommunication Systems Group since January 2014 until April 2014. He served as Chief Strategy Officer of Information & Telecommunication Systems Group at Hitachi, Ltd. since April 2011. Mr. Watanabe served as Chief Executive Officer and President at Hitachi America, Ltd. from October 2014 to March 31, 2015. There, his extensive background in engineering and in business enabled his management of the entire Hitachi server business, including the blade server (BladeSymphony), mainframe, supercomputer, UNIX and Xeon-based servers. Initially joining Hitachi in 1982, Mr. Watanabe advanced through multiple engineering and development positions in the General Purpose Computer Division. In June 2000, he was named General Manager of Mainframe Operations at the Enterprise Server Division of Information Computer Group. From February 2001 to 2004, he was General Manager in charge of Financial Business Solutions in the Hitachi Financial Systems Division at Financial & Distribution Systems Group. He returned to the Enterprise Server Division in 2004. He served as Senior Manager, Management Planning Office, Enterprise Server Division of Information Computer Group since February 2000. He served as Senior Manager of Development Department 1, Enterprise Server Division of Information & Telecommunication Group since April 1999 and Senior Manager of Development Department 3, Development Division, General Purpose Computer Division since February 1999. He served as Chairman of Hitachi Consulting Corporation since April 2014. He serves as a Director at Hitachi Systems, Ltd. He served as a Director of Hitachi Information & Telecommunication Systems Global Holding Corporation and Hitachi Consulting Corporation. He holds an ME degree in Electrical Engineering from Graduate School of Science, The University of Tokyo in 1982 as well as an MS in Management of Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
