Ryuichi Otsuki — VP & Exec. Officer at Hitachi

Mr. Ryuichi Otsuki has been Chief Executive Officer of Hitachi Data Systems Corporation (HDS) since April 01, 2016. Mr. Otsuki has been Vice President and Executive Officer at Hitachi, Ltd. since April 2016 and served as its General Manager of Information & Communication Technology Business Division since April 01, 2016 until August 1, 2016. He served as Chief Executive for The Americas and Deputy General Manager of Information & Communication Technology Business Division at Hitachi, Ltd. since August 1, 2016. He serves as Chief Operating Officer of Services & Platforms Business Unit at Hitachi, Ltd. He has been instrumental in the development of HDS' long-term strategy to expand its portfolio in the areas of infrastructure, content and analytics linking to Hitachi's Social Innovation vision -- making the Internet of Things that matter a reality. He served as General Manager of Social Innovation Business Promotion Division and Deputy General Manager of Corporate Sales & Marketing Group at Hitachi, Ltd. since April 01, 2016. Mr. Otsuki joined Hitachi, Ltd. in 1981. He has over the past 20 years and he has held various positions within Hitachi including the Hitachi Data Systems and PC Corporation as well as many functions within the Global Business Planning and Operation Division. He has been Chairman at Hitachi America, Ltd. since April 1, 2017. Mr. Otsuki Joined the HDS board in 2009. He served as an Executive Director of Hitachi Solutions, Ltd. He served as a Director of Opnext, Inc. from December 2005 to July 2012. Mr. Otsuki graduated from Nagoya University School of Law.
