Executive Bio

Shuvi leads the partnership between NYU Steinhardt and HotChalk. In that role, she partners with the university in designing and growing NYU's Teacher Residency, an innovative model of teacher preparation that partners with school districts and charter organizations nationwide, and the EducationDoctorate in Leadership & Innovation. Shuvi has deep experience in program development, particularly in the field of teacher preparation. She started her career as a teacher in the South Bronx, supported a $46 million new teacher mentoring program in the NYC Dept of Education (NYCDOE), and led the team within the NYCDOE that oversaw the teacher preparation pipeline programs for NYCDOE’s schools. She's also worked in the field of teacher leadership and has extensive experience building and leading teams dedicated to supporting identifying, preparing, and growing teachers in high-need schools. Shuvi joined HotChalk in 2016 and resides in Brooklyn with her wife and two sons.
