Heather Dietrick — Chief Executive Officer of The Daily Beast at IAC

Ms. Heather Dietrick is the CEO of The Daily Beast. She was the President and Publisher at The Daily Beast Company LLC since June 14, 2017. Ms. Dietrick was the Managing Partner, President and General Counsel of Gizmodo Media Group, LLC (formerly known as Gawker Media, LLC). Ms. Dietrick oversees all things legal. Before joining Gawker, she worked in-house at a multinational media company, clerked in the Eastern District of New York and practiced as an intellectual property and media attorney for two of New York's leading law firms. Ms. Dietrick has worked at Gizmodo Media Group where she oversaw influential content brands such as Gizmodo, Lifehacker, Jezebel and Jalopnik, whose traffic collectively grew 25 percent during her tenure. Before this, Ms. Dietrick served as President of Gawker Media, leading through its ultimate sale to Univision last year. Heather worked as First Amendment Fellow and Counsel at Hearst Corporation, as a Law Clerk in the Eastern District of New York and as an associate at Goodwin Procter, LLP, where she practiced trademark and patent litigation and prosecution. Heather was previously Co-Chair of the American Bar Association Forum on Communications Law. She is a fast walker and a fierce defender of the First Amendment. Ms. Dietrick holds a JD/MBA from the University of Michigan and also a B.A. from Georgetown University.
