Valerie Combs — Head of Communications & Senior VP at IAC

Ms. Valerie Combs has been Head of Communications & Senior Vice President at IAC/InterActiveCorp since July 21, 2017. Ms. Combs serves as Senior Vice President of Global Communications at IAC Search & Media, Inc and served as its Vice President of Communications & Customer Service. She served as the Head of Global Communications at IAC/InterActiveCorp from August 19, 2016 to July 21, 2017. Ms. Combs served as Senior Vice President of Communications for IAC Publishing, IAC's collection of premium publishers, where she shaped and continues to help drive PR strategy for brands including Investopedia, Dictionary.com, The Daily Beast and About.com. Before this, she led strategic communications across IAC's search businesses within its Search and Applications segment, which included Ask.com and top iOS developer Apalon. Ms. Combs started her career with IAC at the Oakland-based headquarters of Ask.com as Vice President of Communications, where she helped accelerate the search brand's evolution to a Q&A platform with 30 percent year-over-year increases in positive press coverage during her tenure. Prior to Ask, Ms. Combs served as Vice President of Communications at Twelvefold Media Inc. (formerly, BuzzLogic). Ms. Combs was responsible for launching a first-gen social networking start-up, Tribe.net, which, along with LinkedIn and Friendster, jump-started today's social networking phenomenon. Following her work with Tribe, Ms. Combs led the launch and market development effort for Ingenio's Pay Per Call business. Ms. Combs cut her PR teeth at InterActive Public Relations, a Porter-Novelli owned boutique PR firm focused on B2B start-ups across mobile, security and open source. Ms. Combs holds a B.A. in Journalism from CSU Chico.
