Executive Bio
Mr. Charles E. Dadswell, Esq. has been Senior Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel of Illumina Inc. since April 2013. Before joining Illumina, Mr. Dadswell served as Vice President, General Counsel for North and Latin America and Corporate Director of global intellectual property at bioMerieux. Mr. Dadswell served as a Director of Contracts Management & Intellectual Property at BioDelivery Sciences International Inc. since January 2, 2008. He served as General Counsel of BioDelivery Sciences International Inc. from January 2, 2008 to December 2012. He is a patent law expert and served at BDSI from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), where he held various legal positions over a 14 year career, served as Vice President, US Intellectual Property. In this capacity, he was responsible for managing GSK's North Carolina based patent department responsible for the procurement, maintenance and enforcement of worldwide intellectual property rights. He has been a Director of BIOCOM, Inc. since June 2016. Mr. Dadswell holds a LLM in Patent Law and Trade Regulation from The George Washington University Law School, a JD from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a Bachelor's in Science from Ferris State University.
