Russell Schechter has over 25 years’ experience as a senior financial executive in both public and private companies. He is a financial professional with a strong entrepreneurial background.
Russell began his working career as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in South Africa, first in the Audit division and subsequently as an accounting software consultant in the management services division.
He was a founder and CFO of SVI Holdings, a retail solution software company which listed on the Over-The-Counter Market and subsequently went on to trade on AMEX. After leaving SVI, Russell operated as a strategic and financial advisory CFO providing M&A guidance, assisting in the turn around of distressed companies and implementing sound financial systems. He subsequently joined Vizexplorer, a subsidiary of Endeavor which specialized big data analytical software, where he was instrumental in closing a strategic investment round by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital.
