Executive Bio
Mr. Robert A. Coombs, also known as Rob, has been President of Interface Asia-Pacific (APAC) at Interface, Inc. since January 5, 2017 and has been its Senior Vice President since July 2008. Mr. Coombs oversees all of Interface's Asia-Pacific operations. He has more than a quarter of a century of experience in marketing and senior management positions, including approximately 20 years with Interface companies. He served as Senior Vice President of Asia-Pacific at Interface, Inc. since July 2008 until January 5, 2017. Mr. Coombs served as Senior Vice President of Asia-Pacific Floorcoverings of Interface Inc. Mr. Coombs served as Vice President of Interface Inc. since September 2002. Mr. Coombs originally worked for Interface Inc. from 1988 to 1993 as a Marketing Manager for Interface Inc., Heuga carpet tile operations in the U.K. and later for all of Interface Inc. European floorcovering operations. In 1988, he moved to the UK and joined Interface as UK Marketing Manager, moving to The Netherlands two years later as European Marketing Manager. In 1996, Mr. Coombs returned to Interface Inc. as Managing Director of Interface Inc., Australian operations. Since 1998, he served as Vice President-Sales and Marketing, Asia-Pacific of Interface Inc. with responsibility for Australian operations and sales and marketing in Asia and Senior Vice President, Asia-Pacific. He served as Senior Vice President, European Sales of Interface Inc. since May 1999 and Senior Vice President, European Sales and Marketing, since April 2000. Since February 2001, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Interface Overseas Holdings, Inc. with responsibility for all of Interface Inc. floorcoverings operations in both Europe and the Asia-Pacific region and Mr. Coombs relocated back to Australia, retaining responsibility for Interface Inc., floorcovering operations in the Asia-Pacific region while Mr. Parnell assumed responsibility for floorcovering operations in Europe. He serves as Member of the Board of the Green Building Council of Australia. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne in 1979.
