Sharon Ryan — Senior VP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at International Paper Company

Ms. Sharon R. Ryan has been a Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of International Paper Italia S.r.l. and International Paper Company since November 1, 2011. Ms. Ryan served as the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer at International Paper Company from 2009 to November 1, 2011 and served as its Acting General Counsel and Acting Corporate Secretary from May 2011to November 1, 2011 and also served as its Vice President from March 2011 May 2011. She joined International Paper Company in 1988 as an attorney in the Land and Timber/Forest Products Division. Ms. Ryan served as an Associate General Counsel of Corporate Law at International Paper Company since 2006. In 1992, she was named vice president and general counsel of Masonite Corporation, an International Paper subsidiary. In 1997, she was named general counsel - Building Materials Group, adding Wood Products and Decorative Products to her Masonite responsibilities. She became general counsel of Consumer Packaging and Corporate Sales & Marketing in 2000. Prior to joining International Paper, she was a real estate attorney with Baker, Smith & Mills in Dallas, Texas. She serves as a Director of xpedx Holding Company. Ms. Ryan received her undergraduate degree from George Washington University in 1981. In 1985, Ms. Ryan received her J.D. degree from Boston College Law School where she was an editor for the Boston College Law Review.
