Mr. Nicholls is responsible for North American Containerboard, Container and Recycling businesses and IP Brazil Packaging. He served as Senior Vice President of Industrial Packaging for North America at International Paper Italia S.r.l. and International Paper Company since November 1, 2014 until December 2016. He served as Senior Vice President of Printing & Communications Papers - The America's Region at International Paper Italia S.r.l.and International Paper Company since June 1, 2013 until October 31, 2014 and served as its Senior Vice President of Printing & Communications Papers and Ip Latin America since November 2011 until October 31, 2014. He served as Chief Financial Officer of International Paper Company from 2008 to November 2011 and served as its Senior Vice President from December 1, 2007 to October 2011. Mr. Nicholls served as Vice President and Executive Project leader on special assignment related to International Paper Company's potential joint venture with Russian pulp and paper company, Ilim Pulp. He served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the International Paper Company, European operations, based in Brussels, Belgim and President of Weldwood (formerly a wholly owned subsidiary of International Paper located in Vancouver, Canada). He began his career in the paper industry with Union Camp Corporation in 1991, where he held positions in finance, business management and planning and development in both U.S. and non-U.S. packaging operations. When International Paper acquired Union Camp in 1999, he became General Manager of the emerging markets segment of the combined company's corrugated packaging business and later became Director of Finance and Planning for the Industrial Packaging Sector. Mr. Nicholls earned holds Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina in Spartanburg and MBA from the University of Georgia in Athens.
