Executive Bio

Mr. John R. Saunders has been the President of International Speedway Corporation at Americrown Service Corporation since June 1, 2009. Mr. Saunders served as an Executive Vice President of International Speedway Corp. from April 7, 2004 to June 1, 2009 and its Chief Operating Officer from April 9, 2003 to June 1, 2009. He leaded the marketing, sales, administration and operations of International Speedway Corp. He served as Senior Vice President of Operations of International Speedway Corp. from July 1999 to 2003 and served as its Senior Vice President from April 9, 2003 to April 7, 2004. During his tenure as Senior Vice President of Operations, he was responsible for strategic planning as well as overseeing several ISC motorsports facilities and corporate administration. He also oversaw the integration of Penske Motorsports??? facilities in 1999. Mr. Saunders also served as International Speedway Corp.'s Vice President of Administrative Services responsible for strategic planning as well as development and implementation of administrative services including human resources and corporate communications at all ISC facilities. He served as the President of ISC's Watkins Glen International, International Speedway Corp.'s motorsports facility located in Watkins Glen, N.Y. from 1983 to 1997. As President of WGI, Mr. Saunders led the growth of the facility through the early 80s and 90s and was instrumental in landing a Winston Cup date for the road course in 1986. He also oversaw the redevelopment and expansion of the facility. Mr. Saunders joined Corning Incorporated in 1980 as a Manager of merchandising and food services in Corning Glass Center in Corning, NY. In 1983, he was named President of the motorsports facility at Watkins Glen, which had been purchased by then, Corning Glassworks and ISC. Mr. Saunders serves as Chairman and Director at WGI and holds several other executive positions within that company. Since 2002, he has been Vice Chairman and Board of Directors International Motor Racing Research Center.
