Dr. Thomas D. Reed, Ph.D., co-founded Intrexon Corporation in 1998 and has been its Chief Science Officer since 1998. Dr. Reed served as Head of Consumer Sector at Intrexon Corporation. He is a molecular geneticist with over twenty years of experience in recombinant DNA technology. He has developed sophisticated transgenic model systems for studying the role of gene products in neuronal, cardiovascular and cancer systems. He served as Chairman of Intrexon Corporation. Dr. Reed served as Director of Intrexon Corporation since 1998 until April 16, 2014. He received his B.S. in Genetics from the University of California-Davis and then completed his M.S. at Wright State University in Biological Science. Dr. Reed received his PhD. from the University of Cincinnati in Molecular and Developmental Biology.
