Executive Bio

Dr. Patrick Y. Yang, Ph.D., has been Executive Vice President and Senior Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer at Juno Therapeutics, Inc. since November 27, 2017. Dr. Yang served as an Executive Vice President of Technical Operations of Genentech, Inc. Dr. Yang served as an Executive Vice President and Global Head of Technical Operations for F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG and F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. from January 2010 to March 2013. He was responsible for the F. Hoffmann's pharmaceutical manufacturing, process development, engineering, quality, regulatory, supply chain and procurement. He joined Roche in 2009. He served as an Executive Vice President of Product Operations at Genentech Inc. since December 2005 and served as its Vice President of South San Francisco Manufacturing & Engineering from January 2004 to January 2005 and Senior Vice President of product operations from January 5, 2005 to December 2005. He was responsible for Genentech's manufacturing, engineering, process development, regulatory, quality, compliance and supply chain management functions. Dr. Yang joined Genentech Inc in 2003 from Merck & Co., where he served several leadership roles in Merck's Manufacturing Division for over 11 years. He served as Vice President of Supply Chain Management. In this role, he led the worldwide materials management, strategic planning and manufacturing support functions for Merck's 34 plants. He served as Merck's vice president, Asia/Pacific Manufacturing Operations. Prior to joining Merck in 1992, Dr. Yang spent 12 years at General Electric Co., serving in several research, engineering, technology and manufacturing management roles. He worked at Life Systems, Inc. in research, development and manufacturing operations. He has been an Independent Director at Codexis, Inc. since February 27, 2014. He serves as an Independent Director of AbGenomics International, Inc. He has been an Independent Director of PharmaEssentia Corporation since March 2014. He has been a Director of Amyris, Inc. since July 1, 2014. He has been an Independent Director at Andeavor (Formerly, Tesoro Corporation) since December 9, 2010. He served as a Non-Employee Director at Celladon Corporation from March 2014 to June 1, 2015. He served on the board of TaiMed Inc. from 2007 to 2009. Dr. Yang holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a Doctorate (Ph.D) in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from The Ohio State University.
