The company is lost right now; too much effort on buying other companies and too little on making existing infrastructure work. They gutted their talent in 2019 and are not the company they once were.
They are laying off people based on age and salaries. They don't care about retirements or loyalties.

Learn the actual nature of the job
Interviewing is irrelevant to them; the interview process was just one more time-wasting meeting. I interviewed with people that I later never saw again or worked with, who asked me questions unrelated to my role. The interview was unnecessarily long, but also very shallow; it did not test me.

The auction process is the most rewarding part of the day, it is the culmination of a weeks work and the signal to start again
