Eleanor Hill — Partner at King & Spalding

Ms. Eleanor Hill is a partner in the Special Matters/Government Investigations Practice Group at King & Spalding LLP. She rejoined the firm in September 2003 after serving as Staff Director of the Joint Congressional Inquiry related to September 11. She was a Partner at the firm from 1999 through June 2002, when she was tapped by the House and Senate Intelligence Committees to lead Congress's factual review of intelligence community knowledge of terrorist activity prior to September 11, 2001. Prior to joining King & Spalding in 1999, Ms. Hill served as Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Defense, a position for which she was nominated by President Clinton. While there, she managed a wide range of audits and criminal administrative investigations to combat waste, fraud and abuse throughout the Department. In the U.S. Senate, Ms. Hill served nearly fifteen years on the staff of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations where, as Staff Director, she managed numerous Congressional investigations and related legislative efforts. She served as Liaison Counsel for Senator Sam Nunn on the Select Committee on Secret Military Assistance to Iran and the Nicaraguan Opposition. She is also an experienced federal prosecutor and trial lawyer, having served as both an Assistant United States Attorney and a Special Attorney with the Organized Crime Section of the Department of Justice.
