John W. Cantele — Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at La Quinta Holdings

Mr. John W. Cantele has been Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at La Quinta Corporation since April 2016. Mr. Cantele has been Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of La Quinta Holdings Inc. since April 25, 2016. He served as Global Head of Select Hotels at Hyatt Hotels Corporation since 2011, where he led the operations of Hyatt's owned select service hotels. At Hyatt, he also served in the roles of Senior Vice President, Select Hotels and Senior Vice President, Hyatt Summerfield Suites/Hyatt House. Mr. Cantele was responsible for corporate operations, sales, revenue management, product design and planning, franchise development and marketing. Prior to Hyatt, he was with LodgeWorks Hotel Corporation where he oversaw all aspects of being a developer, an owner/operator and a franchisee of branded hotels throughout the United States. Mr. Cantele served as Senior Vice President of Operations and Partner of LodgeWorks, L.P (also known as LodgeWorks Hotel Corporation). Mr. Cantele was responsible for all hotels, including Summerfield Suites by Wyndham and Sierra Suites Hotels. Mr. Cantele served as Sierra Suites' Vice President of Operations and Director of Operations from 1995 to April 2000. He served both Sierra Suites and Summerfield Suites by Wyndham as a Corporate and Local-market, Executive-level Manager. Early in his career, Mr. Cantele held positions with several hospitality brands including Guest Quarters Hotels, Residence Inn and Summerfield Suites Hotels, serving in various roles, including Vice President of Operations as well as a Front-Line Hotel General Manager, sales manager, director of sales and multi-property director of sales/general manager. Mr. Cantele earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
