Executive Bio

Mr. Patrick J. Curth, also known as Pat, has been a Senior Vice President of Exploration and Land of Laredo Petroleum, Inc. and Laredo Petroleum, LLC since October 2006. Mr. Curth served as a Vice President of Exploration at Latigo Petroleum, Inc. He served as Senior Vice President of Exploration & Land of Latigo Petroleum, Inc. Mr. Curth has been involved in exploration and development projects in the Mid-Continent area for over two and half decades. He started his career in the Oklahoma City office of CONOCO, Inc. in 1975. At CONOCO, he completed exploitation and geophysical assignments in the Ventura, California, Casper, Wyoming and Ponca City, Oklahoma offices. In 1979, he took a job with Reading & Bates Petroleum in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a staff geologist working the Anadarko Basin. Mr. Curth was instrumental in getting several key exploratory Red Fork tests drilled in Western Oklahoma including the Red Moon well in Roger Mills County. Subsequently, he worked for several small independents in Tulsa and also as a geological consultant, all the time concentrating his exploratory efforts in the Mid-Continent area. In the Spring of 1997, he joined Lariat Petroleum, Inc. as one of its original employees serving in the capacity of Vice President-Exploration from 1997 to 2001. He stayed on with it through the successful January 2001 merger with Newfield Exploration and until late Fall 2002. In December 2002, he joined Latigo Petroleum, Inc. as its Exploration Manager. Mr. Curth holds a BA in Geology, Masters Degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Masters Degree in Environmental Sciences from Oklahoma State University-Stillwater.
