Bettina Garcia Welsh — Chief of Internal Audit and Senior Vice President at Leidos

Ms. Bettina Garcia Welsh has been Chief of Internal Audit and Senior Vice President of Leidos Holdings, Inc. since May 2, 2016. Ms. Welsh leads the internal audit function and is responsible for planning and executing financial, operational and IT audits to evaluate Leidos' business risks, processes and internal controls, adherence to company policies and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. She provides recommendations on internal control enhancements, business operation process improvements, profit improvement opportunities, cost control and risk mitigation. At Leidos (previously SAIC), she has held several finance leadership roles during her decade-plus with the company. She served as the Chief Financial Officer for the National Security Sector of Leidos for three years. Before joining Leidos in 2001, Ms. Welsh spent 13 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Principal Consultant/Senior Manager. While there, she led domestic and international, government and public sector modernization projects, focusing on topics such as financial management systems development and process improvement, finance function organizational redesign, operational effectiveness and enhancement and risk management analysis and improvement. She is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and an attendee of Wharton's Executive Development Program. She is a native Spanish speaker. Ms. Welsh holds a Bachelor's degree in economics from Swarthmore College and a Master of Accountancy from George Washington University.
