A Le biscuit foi fundada em 1968, na cidade de Feira de Santana, na Bahia. A marca cresceu aos poucos e em 1992 seu processo de expansão começou com abertura da primeira loja em Salvador e Aracaju. Logo depois, em 2003, surgiu a marca Planeta Bebê: uma rede de lojas especializada em enxovais e artigos infantis. Em 2012, com a entrada do fundo de investimento Vinci Partners para o grupo Le biscuit, a rede iniciou um plano crescimento nacional mais robusto e, atualmente, conta com 86 lojas distribuídas em doze estados (Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Maranhã, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte, Sergipe e São Paulo). A Le biscuit encanta seus clientes com um mix variado de mais de 50 mil itens de decoração, utilidades para o lar, camping, brinquedos, papelaria, festas, bebê, armarinho, bomboniére, eletrodomésticos e portáteis, telefonia, cama, mesa e banho.
