Adobe is planning to stop updating and distributing Flash Player at the end of 2020. Currently, most of our website games require Flash in order to play, but the good news is that we're working on transitioning the majority of our games over to HTML5. In fact, our newer games already use HTML5. Transitioning to HTML5 brings this Flash problem to a permanent end.
For Internet Explorer users, our new HTML5 games don't run as well on Internet Explorer as Flash games. For best performance we recommend either the Chrome browser, Firefox browser, or the built in browser Edge if you're on Windows 10.
You may notice some updates to our games. Our HTML5 games have a How to Play and a Mute Sound button on the start screen. The pause button appears in the top-right corner after you start the game rather than at the bottom of the game screen. From the pause menu you can mute the game, restart it, or review the tutorial.
When you start a game, you may notice a message indicating that the game is in the process of updating to HTML5. Your score, LPI, and level progress won’t be saved while we’re making changes to the game because we want to prevent invalid data from being recorded.
You'll see the tutorial the first time you play the new HTML5 version of each game. Rest assured that your level progress will be retained and you can just tap Skip Tutorial to get straight to the game.

You must wait between feeding each fish, and the amount of time is indicated by the timer at the bottom of the screen. After clicking on a fish, the orange timer circle will refill and once the orange circle is highlightedyou can tap to feed another fish. If youtap a fish before the time is up, the timer will shake back and forth.

A timer outlined in yellow will appear where you clicked and will count down the seconds before you can click another fish. View ArticleTraining Reminders are optional emails sent to remind you to complete your daily training. Please note that if you have not received a reminder for any reason you can still access your training session at ANY time by going directly to our website.
If you haven’t received a reminder, it is likely due to one of the following:
You are not subscribed to Training reminders
Training Reminders will be sent only on the days you have selected. Make sure you are signed up by going to your Training Reminder preferences page.
Please be aware that if you recently re-subscribed after a lapse in your subscription, you will need to re-select the days reminders are delivered.
You have already completed your daily training session
Training Reminders are intended to prompt you to play. This means no reminder will be sent if your daily training session has been completed. If you start a training session after midnight on the current day (even if you access that session via the previous day's reminder), your workout for the day will be marked as complete and you will not be sent a reminder.
You have the incorrect time zone on your account
The time zone you have set on your account will affect when sessions are marked as complete. To ensure that sessions are recorded correctly and that reminders sent at the correct time, we recommend checking that you have the correct time zone by visiting your Account page.
Reminders are going to spam or to another folder
If Training Reminders are arriving in junk mail or spam, marking them as "safe" or "not junk" should allow future emails to go directly to your inbox. We also recommend adding the email addresses [email protected] and [email protected] to your contact list(s).
Additionally, if you are a Gmail user, we recommend checking your Promotions or Updates tab(s). You can find information regarding how to manage the tabs in your Gmail inbox here.
A delivery failure has caused you to be dropped from our email list
If none of the above apply, one last possible reason that emails are not arriving is that we are experiencing a delivery failure when emailing you.
If we have encountered a delivery failure, you will notice that your Training Reminder preferences do not remain saved, even after you re-select them.
If you suspect your delivery has been interrupted du e to delivery failure, you will need to email us directly for further assistance.

View ArticleThe first severaltimes you play a new game, you may see a drop in your LPI.While we weigh games less that have been played only a few times, they will still have some effect on LPI initially. This means that when you play a new game a new number will start to be included and affect LPI calculations. Since membersoften have lower scores the first few times they play a game, it is normal for LPIs to go down after playing a new game. Additionally, when we remove a game from Early Access and assign an LPI to the game, it will begin affecting your LPI calculations.
Each new game you play tests one of a number of different skills and contributes to a broader picture of your Lumosity performance. You shouldn't be discouraged when you see a new game bring down your LPI, as this is perfectly normal. You shouldn't expect to perform as well in a new game as you do on games in which you have more experience. You may want to continue working on that game to bring your LPI up.
It is important to keep in mind that the object of your training is to improve your cognitive functions; the games are just a fun interface to allow you to do so. Regardless of your scores, you're still giving yourself a great mental workout!
For further information about LPI, check out the FAQ" How is LPI calculated? "

View ArticleLPI (Lumosity Performance Index) is a standardized performance metric that shows how well you are performing on Lumosity games and lets you compare performance across games and Cognitive Areas. LPI is based on the scores you receive for Lumosity games. It is not influenced by your age or any training preferences you have selected.
We calculate LPI at 3 different levels: Game LPI, Cognitive Area LPI, and overall Cognitive LPI.
Game LPI
Game LPI is determined by examining score distributions for each game across a wide range of members. An LPI value is then assigned to each game score. Once these LPI values are set for a particular game, memberswill start receiving a Game LPI when they play that game. We readjust your Game LPI each time you play by looking at how well you scored that round, and how that compares to your previous scores for that game. We look at all your recent scores, not just your best score or your last score.
Cognitive Area LPI
Cognitive Area LPIs (the LPIs for Speed, Memory, Attention, Flexibility, and Problem Solving) are calculated using a weighted average of the Game LPIs for the games you have played in that Cognitive Area.
We will exclude the Game LPIs of your lowest performing games from your Cognitive Area LPI calculation if you have played enough games in that Cognitive Area.
Overall Cognitive LPI
Cognitive LPI is calculated using a weighted average of the Game LPIs from all Cognitive Areas. Since you might not play an equal number of games from each Cognitive Area, yourCognitive LPI may not be the same as the average of your 5 Cognitive Area LPIs.
We will exclude the Game LPIs of your lowest performing games from your LPI calculations if you have played enough games.
Math games and Language games are not included in the Overall Cognitive LPI because these are knowledge based game rather thancognitive based games. Math games have a separate LPI.

Creating variations of your email address in Gmail
If you use Gmail, you can add "+" and some text to your email address when creating a new Lumosity account. Messages will go to your original email address, but you’ll be able to have multiple Lumosity accounts.
For example, suppose you have the email address [email protected], and you share it with your spouse. If your spouse wants their own Lumosity account, they can use [email protected] or [email protected]. In this example, “jane” can be replaced with any text; just make sure to put it between the + and the @. Mail to any of these variations will go to [email protected].
Using the same email on multiple devices
You should use the same Lumosity account every time you train, whether you train online, on a mobile device, or on a tablet. Just log into your existing account - using the same email address - on all devices. Your membershipwill sync across devices.
