Gavin L. Robinson — Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Japan and President of Manulife Japan at Manulife Financial Corp

Mr. Gavin L. Robinson serves as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Manulife Life Insurance Company. Mr. Robinson serves as an Executive Vice President and General Manager of Japan for Asia Division at Manulife Financial Corporation and also served as its Executive Vice President - Asia Division. He serves as an Executive Vice President and General Manager of Japan Operations at Manulife Financial Asia Limited. Before his move to Japan in January 2013, Mr. Robinson served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Affinity Markets, Manulife Financial Corporation. Prior to that, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Affinity Markets, driving top and bottom line growth through his accountability for all financial and actuarial functions. Mr. Robinson joined Manulife in 1999, first serving as Vice President in the Corporate Actuarial Division with responsibility for overseeing pricing in the company's worldwide operations, before moving to the position of Vice President and Actuary, Wealth Management, with accountability for the actuarial functions of that business unit. Prior to joining Manulife, Mr. Robinson held senior roles with AMP Superannuation in Australia, where he gained substantial experience in products and marketing as well as a strong financial background. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia. Mr. Robinson is a graduate of the University of Adelaide (South Australia) with a Bachelor's Degree in Science.
