Mr. Michael J. Doughty, also known as Mike, has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Canada at Manulife Financial Corporation since October 6, 2017. Mr. Doughty served as Interim President, Chief Executive Officer of John Hancock since 2013 until October 01, 2017 and served as its Executive Vice President and Interim General Manager until October 1, 2017. Mr. Doughty served as Interim General Manager of U.S. Division at Manulife Financial Corporation since May 25, 2017. Mr. Doughty served as President and General Manager of John Hancock Insurance at John Hancock Financial Services, Inc., since January 2013. He served as the President and General Manager of U.S. Life Insurance Business at John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. since June 04, 2012. He served as an Executive Vice President of John Hancock Insurance at John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. since January 1 , 2013. He served as Executive Vice President of John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. Mr. Doughty joined Manulife in 1992, has held a number of senior marketing positions in both Canadian and Corporate Operations. He has been the Chair of LIMRA Inc. (also known as for Life Happens) since October 30, 2017 and serves as its Director. He has been Vice Chair of LL Global Inc since January 2017 and has been its Director since November 5, 2014. He serves as the Board of Trustees for The American College of Financial Services, the Board of Directors for United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley and is a founding member of the Tufts University Nutrition Council. Mr. Doughty graduated with a B.A. in History from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
