Naveed Irshad — Executive VP & Head of North America Legacy Business at Manulife Financial Corp

Mr. Naveed Irshad has been Head of North America Legacy Business of Manufacturers Life Insurance Company since January 2018. Mr. Irshad has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Manulife (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. at Manulife Financial Corporation since May 27, 2014. Mr. Irshad is responsible for the overall development of Manulife's business operations in Singapore. This includes three key business segments - life insurance, wealth management and retirement solutions. Mr. Irshad has over 20 years of industry experience and has a deep understanding of the global life insurance industry. His most recent position was part of a global accounts team of an American reinsurer based in Toronto, Canada. His expertise included global product development, risk management and pricing. Prior to this, he worked at Manulife for 16 years in a variety of business roles in Toronto and Boston. Just prior to leaving Manulife in 2011, he held a corporate position as Senior vice president, Product and Insurance Risk Management, responsible for new product and insurance risk, globally. Mr. Irshad was responsible for reviewing and approving all material for new product and underwriting initiatives across all product lines at Manulife. He serves as Deputy President, Life Insurance Association of Singapore; on the Executive Committee, Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore; is a Board Member, Wilson Global Initiative (promoting literacy); and is a Strategic Advisor at Seedly (fintech startup). He holds a B.Sc. in Actuarial Math from Concordia University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA), and is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
