Leaders are not providing a clear path to the vague ideas they call a vision. There is no clear decision-making structure and we often reverse course on decisions within 6 to 12 months.

Imagine a company run by the meanest, most vicious, most ambitious, and least capable people you knew in high school and you have a sense of the type of personality that does well in the current incarnation of Marqeta. Most of the executive team that built the company leading up to the IPO has left.

They are all new and bew to working with each orher as well.

They are transparent with what their plans are for the future and also are encouraging good people working cross functionally.

Accountability. There is very little accountability in the managerial ranks.

The executive team doesn't even make an effort to say hello to employees, much less be honest and transparent about the many growing pains we're experiencing.
