Executive Bio

Mr. Gregory R. Chemnitz, also known as Greg, has been Vice President and General Counsel at Materion Corporation since September 17, 2007 and its Secretary since January 01, 2017. Mr. Chemnitz joined Brush Engineered Materials from Avery Dennison Corporation in Mentor, Ohio, where he served as an Assistant General Counsel, Americas. At Avery Dennison, he had responsibility for the legal affairs of several divisions including worldwide responsibility for the Roll Materials Division, the Avery Dennison largest business unit. He joined Avery Dennison in 1992 as Divisional Counsel and also served for three years as Senior Counsel, Europe, based in The Netherlands. Mr. Chemnitz's prior experience also includes corporate law assignments as an associate of Benesch, Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff LLP and Thompson Hine LLP and in insurance for the Progressive Corporation. Mr. Chemnitz is a 1984 graduate of Georgetown University's Law Center and School of Foreign Service where he earned a Juris Doctorate and master's degree. He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Richmond. Mr. Chemnitz also has a Diploma from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Bologna, Italy.
