Zaldwaynaka Z. Scott J.D. — Partner at Mayer Brown

Ms. Zaldwaynaka Z. Scott has been a Partner at Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP (Now, Mayer Brown LLP) since August 2005. Ms. Scott serves as a Partner of Kaye Scholar LLP. Ms. Scott served as an Executive Inspector General for the Office of the Governor of Illinois, where she established and managed an internal compliance and investigative agency for Illinois government and Illinois public universities and worked closely with the state's internal auditor and the Illinois Auditor General in matters related to integrity of state government functions. she was a federal criminal prosecutor with the United States Attorney's Office from 1987 to 2003, where she served various management positions, including Chief of the General Crimes Section. She sreved in the City of Chicago Corporation Counsel's Office for four years. Ms. Scott has extensive management, supervisory and teaching experience. Ms. Scott has been actively involved in the Black Women Lawyer's Association of Greater Chicago. She has been a Director of Chicago Housing Authority since July 6, 2011. She serves as a Trustee of at Chicago State University. She served as President of the association and Co-Chairman of its Continuing Legal Education Committee and a Member of the Scholarship Committee. In 2004, she was awarded the Founder's Award by the Chicago Bar Association Alliance for Women. She teaches trial advocacy at Northwestern University School of Law, John Marshall University School of Law, the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and she taught courses in criminal law at the University of Chicago Law School. Ms. Scott was named to Illinois SuperLawyers in 2009, 2010 and 2011. She holds a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 1983 and B.S. in Journalism from University of Champaign-Urbana in 1980.
