Mr. Emmett E. McLean is a Co-Founder of Medical Properties Trust Inc. and has been its Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Treasurer since September 2003. Mr. McLean has been Secretary of Medical Properties Trust Inc. since June 2010. Mr. McLean served as Assistant Secretary of Medical Properties Trust Inc. from April 2004 to June 2010. In August and September 2003, Mr. McLean also served as the Chief Financial Officer of Medical Properties Trust Inc. From June to September, 2003, Mr. McLean served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer and board member of predecessor. From 2000 to 2003, Mr. McLean was a private investor and for part of that period, served as a consultant to a privately held company. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. McLean served as Senior Vice President of Development, Secretary, Treasurer and a board member of PsychPartners, L.L.C. PsychPartners, L.L.C. filed a petition under the federal bankruptcy laws in January 2000. From 1992 to 1994, he was Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of Diagnostic Health Corporation, a healthcare services company. From 1984 to 1992, he worked for Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc., now Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney, now Citigroup, in the corporate finance departments of their respective investment banking businesses. From 1977 to 1982, Mr. McLean worked as a commercial banker for SunTrust Banks, Inc. Mr. McLean received an MBA from the University of Virginia in 1984 and a B.A. in Economics from The University of North Carolina in 1977.
