Dr. Rouven Bergmann has been the Chief Financial Officer of Medidata Solutions, Inc. since May 18, 2015 and has been its Chief Accounting Officer since October 2, 2015. Dr. Bergmann served as Chief Financial Officer of North America at SAP America, Inc. Dr. Bergmann was responsible for overseeing all financial activities for SAP's largest business unit. His key accomplishments include driving SAP's transition from a traditional licensing model to SaaS (software-as-a-service) and leading transformational acquisition integrations. Dr. Bergmann served as Chief Operating Officer for SAP's global R&D organization. Since joining SAP in 2005, He served a variety of leadership positions, including Chief Controlling Officer for the Products & Innovation board area and the BusinessObjects division, as well as Chief Financial Officer for SAP India. He startedhis SAP career at the corporate level where he was responsible for the financial planning and consolidation of SAP AG. Dr. Bergmann gained extensive management consultant experience advising clients in the areas of corporate finance and strategy. He holds Master degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from Technical University of Kaiserslautern, in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Dr. Bergmann earned his MBA and PhD in Economics and Finance from Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich in Germany.
