Mr. Stephen Ritter, also known as Steve, has been the Chief Technology Officer of Mitek Systems, Inc. since February 2016. Mr. Ritter is responsible for driving the technological development of Mitek Systems' award-winning mobile capture and identity verification solutions, as well as overseeing Mitek Labs. He has more than 22 years of experience bringing new commercial software solutions to market. He served as the Senior Vice President of Product Development at Emotient, Inc., since June 19, 2014. Mr. Ritter led engineering and product development for Emotient, responsible for the commercial development and delivery of emotion analytics products for the retail and healthcare markets. Prior to joining Emotient, he served as Chief Technology Officer for Cypher Genomics. Prior to Cypher Genomics, he served as Vice President of Engineering for Websense. At Websense, he led a global team in the development of the market leading web security product TRITON Web Security Gateway, which generates in excess of $200M annually. Prior to Websense, Mr. Ritter worked for six years at McAfee, where he served as Senior Director of Engineering for groups ranging from 35 to 150+ engineers and was responsible for four different products including McAfee's flagship enterprise security management platform ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO). He began his career as an accomplished software developer/architect and holds six patents in the area of information security. Mr. Ritter holds a B.S. in Cognitive Science, Computer Science & Economics from UC San Diego.
