Jim Valente ā Global Head of Real Estate at MSCI
Executive Bio
Mr. Jim Valente has been Global Head of Real Estate at MSCI Inc. since March 1, 2016. Mr. Valente joined MSCI in 2011. During his tenure he has managed both the North American client base, as well as the Global Product functions for Real Estate. As part of this, he developed and launched, with PREA (Pension Real Estate Association), the PREAIPD U.S. Property Fund Indexes. He has more than 20 years' experience in the institutional real estate investment management industry having previously occupied senior research and strategy positions at BentallKennedy, ING Clarion and SSR Realty. Mr. Valente is a frequent speaker at industry events and his research and views on real estate have appeared in both academic and trade publications. He is a Fellow at the Homer Hoyt Institute and a member of the Pension Real Estate Association's (PREA) Research Affinity Group. He holds a BA in Economics and an MBA with concentrations in real estate and finance from the University of Connecticut.
