Account Types

We recognize that some of our members have a few specialized talents they wish to be quickly identified as. During sign up weve given you the opportunity to add account types to your profile for networking, browsing, and in some instincts, targeted features. Choose wisely.

Once you gain access to your email account, you can use the forgot password form.

If you forgot theemail address you used to sign up with Myspace, you can use your Username to log into your account. You will be required to enter your password.

If you don't remember your password, try Forgot Password. This will send an email to the email address we have on file for the Username you entered. Check your different email addresses to see if you received an email. Check your spam folder just in case it wasn't delivered to your inbox.

There are threereasons why music may not be appearing once uploaded.

Check Account type, make sure you have Musician, DJ/Producer, Comedian, or Venue selected

Check the privacy of the song. A lock icon to the right of the song represents the song being private

If you set the Release Date on songs/albums to a date in the future, your content will not be visible until that day arrives.

Remember to be patient.Give it a couple minutesto get settled and refresh your browser. If the problem still persists, you may not be the only one having that issue. Check out the community and let us knowso our team canaddress it for you.

You can delete a photo from your stream or completely delete the image from your profile.

To delete a photo you uploaded from your stream:

Hover over the photo and select the X in the upper-right-hand corner

Select Yes please

To delete a photo completely from your profile:

Go to your profile>Photosand hover over the circle in the upper-right-hand corner

Select Delete from the drop down

Confirm deletion, select Yes please

Music Player Issue

If you've run into any issues with the music player, it's really helpful if you can include the console logs. To obtain the console logs, please follow the below.

Right click over the music player and select Inspect element

Here are some things to keep in mind before you upload music to Myspace.

Your Account Type must be listed as Musician, DJ/Producer, Comedian, or Venue to get a catalog page.

Supported file types are WAV, MP3, AIF, FLAC, AAC

To Sign In

Click Sign In, located in the upper right hand corner of your screen. Enter your Myspace credentials and clickthe Sign In button.

You also have the option to sign in with Facebook or Twitter. Doing so will automatically sync your Myspace account if you have not done so already.

Friends

Where are my photos?We've transferred photos over for all classic/old Myspace accounts. You can find them in the Mixes section of your profile. Think of a Mix as a photo album. Click on each Mix to edit and see more images.

*If you don't see any photos, that means your old account was not synced to your new Myspace.Try doing a search to see if you can locate your old Myspace account. Unfortunately, if you cannot locate your old profile we will be unable to assist with retrieval since the old Myspace was never transferred to the new Myspace.

Friends

Friends are now referred to as connections. You can visit connections to see who you haveconnected to and who hasconnected to you.

If you are looking for something that is not on this list, that means the content is no longer available and cannot be retrieved.

The majority of accounts were manually transferred to the new Myspace. As long as your profile is synced to your classic Myspace account, yourphoto albums were already transferred. You can locate your photosunder mixes. Each album equals a mix.

I am missing photos

If you are missing photos that means we no longer had a copy of the photos to transferto the new site.

If you are missing photos its possible you may have another account. Try doing a search for your old email address or your full name (alias if you never entered your full name). If locate an account butdont remember the log in information, please fill out this form.

Blank sections or empty mixesIf there are albums/photos with a holding space for images but the images do not load, that means the photos are no longer located on our servers and we cannot assist with retrieving your photos.

Throughout the site you will see various artist and profiles that include the blue flag on their profile photo. This is a feature that is set by Myspace in order to help identify an individual, artist, or brand to the Myspace community. In an online world where millions of profiles exist for every type of person, place or thing imaginable, we are determined to make sure you can discover and connect to high value, quality content and the people that create it. These verified individuals and organizations that work with Myspace to establish their presence on the site. They are authenticated as belonging to those specific individuals, or their representatives. How do I get Verified?Right now, Myspace does not accept requests for verification. We work with our partners and various media groups on an ongoing basis to verify profiles to confirm ownership. Because we interact on a daily basis with the Myspace community, we also want to recognize individuals who contribute to, and enhance the Myspace experience for others. Although wedon'taccept requests for verification, it does not mean you are not eligible for the blue flag. We talk to our users constantly and are proactively reaching out to individuals we see are making positive waves through the community. If you are one of these people, let us know and keep doing it! Your voice will be heard and we will make sure that your profile is properly identified with the Verification flag. We may be changing this policy and process as our community grows so please keep your eyes and ears open for any updates from Myspace.

The URL is located in the address bar of the browser.

The portion that proceeds https://myspace.com/ is your Username. You can use your Username to log into your account along with your password.

To change the privacy of your photos, log into a desktop computer.

Private

If you set a mix to private, that means only you can view the photos.

Go to your Mix section

Click on the Mix you want to make private

Directly above the Mix title, click on the lock icon Mix

Select Private

Public

If you set a mix to public, that means anyone can see your photos. If you only want your connections to see your images, set your profile to restricted.

Your videos are located in two places. The videos that appear when you select Videos from your profile are viewable by your connections and other users if your profile is public.

If you go to Upload>Videos you can delete, change the privacy settings, and make updates to the video information.

My videos are not appearing when Igo to my profile>videos

If there is a lock icon to the right of the video information the profile is set to private. That means only you can see the video.

To make the video public

Select the pencil icon

Uncheck the box for Privacy

Select Save

Missing Videos

If you are missing videos we did not transfer them from the old to the new site. The videos no longer met our requirements or violated our terms of service.

All FLV videos can no longer be played due to an update to the player. We updated our player to HTML5. Unfortunately, we do not offer a way to play or download these videos.

We take reports of abuse very seriously. If you locate questionable content or youre being harassed, please let us know by reporting the content. We suggest you save a copy of harassing content for your records. You may take a screenshot or print the content. If you feel threatened, notify your local law enforcement immediately. Before you report any content you may want to check out our Terms and User Guidelines.

Fake Profiles

Profiles that are created solely to impersonate someone violate our terms of service and are removed.

If you stumble across a profile or image posted of you without your consent, click Report (shown in the image above) and select this is me!

If you stumble across a profile pretending to be someone else without their consent, click Report (show in the image above) and select this profile is pretending to be someone else

It is better to report the exact content if it is a song, Mix, photo, share, post, etc., along with the profile. Reporting the content will provide us with the profile in question.

Myspace will only take action on content that displays identifying information (e.g. full name, phone number, email address, etc.).

If you are a minor, and you know who the person is that is harassing you, please let a parent, teacher, or trusted adult know so they may assist.

Please utilize your profile privacy settings in order to control who can view your activities.

We will only contact you regarding your report if we require additional information to make a decision.

Myspace will only take action on content that violates our .

We will not remove a profile if it shares your name but has no other commonalities

Profiles with similar usernames or appearances are not automatic violation

Parody, commentary or fan profiles are allowed

Myspace is a community that is built on creativity. We embrace all types of artistic expression. At the same time, we must keep a community that is safe, positive, and welcoming to our current and future users. To do this we actively monitor the behavior and content on the site. If we find any content or behavior that violates our terms of service, or puts our members at risk, we will aggressively take action on the content, and if necessary, remove the entire profile. Any content or behavior that we believe puts a person, or group at risk will be reported to local authorities.

What does this mean?

Malicious Bigotry

Don't actively promote violence or extreme hatred against individuals or groups, on the basis of race, ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, or sexual orientation.

Gore and Violent Content

Please do not post violent or gory images for the purpose of shock value. We will remove the content and consider removing your profile if we believe this was done with the purpose of encouraging violence or harm on others. If we believe any person or group is at risk, we will be working with the proper authorities to notfiy them.

Sexually Explicit Videos and Images

Please don't use our upload feature to host any sexually explicit videos or images. We're not in the business of profiting from adult-oriented content and there aremuchbetter websites out there for you to do this on. Trust me when we say that this stuff won't last long on Myspace. Your account will be disabled without any warnings.

Username, profile names, and URL Abuse

Myspace URLs (usernames) are for the use and enjoyment of our users and for others to discover you on the site. Don't squat, hoard, collect, trade, or sell URLs, and don't register a URL for the purpose of impersonating an individual, organization, or brand. We do searches on a consistant basis and will remove any profiles we see behaving in this manner.

Impersonation, Stalking, or Harassment

Treat people on the site the way you'd like to be treated. People are smart and can spot the fakers. If you want to parody, don't try to trick readers into thinking you areactuallythat public figure. You must state that your profile is a parody or fan profile or it will be subject to deletion. By connecting to them iyou will be able to stay on top of what they want you to know.

Privacy Violations

Don't use Myspace to deceptively obtain personal information. Privacy is a very important topic these days. Don't post content that violates anyone's privacy, including personally identifying or confidential information like credit card numbers, social security numbers, unlisted contact information, or private photos of yourself or others. Once again, this is very important and we will take immediate action on any account that we believe is using the site to share or distribute private data.

Art has always pushed limits. Wedon'twant to hinder the creative spirit of our users on the site by censoring the way our users express themselves.

Tasteful nudity

From the Vatican to LACMA, artists have been able to capture the human body in beautiful and expressive ways. We will be more lenient with our artists on the site that have been able to create beautiful art using the human form.

Sexual Activity is still not accepted and will result in the profile being deleted

Like we said above, there are better websites out there that can help you get your fill of adult material.

You must be logged into Myspace in order to update your email address. In order to change the email address linked to your account, go to your Profile Settings menu and choose Account. Once you are in your Profile Settings, click on Email to view the email address linked to the profile. You can then change the email address to one of your preference.

If that still does not work, try contacting your email service provider. They are most likely blocking emails from Myspace from being delivered.

The forgot password feature has been checked and confirmed to be working as expected.

Did you recently find your images in Google Search results? This guide will explain why they are appearing and what steps to take to help remove them from Google search results.

Why are my Myspace photos and information in Google search?Google will crawl a website to index image and page URLs updating those results to their search engine. Myspace has a high Google search rank so theres a possibility that your profile will show up in Google search if its public. Why is my deleted content still showing up in Google search?Deleted content will still show in Google search because Google caches search results, which means that deleted content is still visible and searchable. Until Google updates its search index to reflect the recent change, links to the profile and images will still be available. Links to deleted content will return an invalid page error.

Don't want my photos appearing when my name is Googled

You have two options, set the profile to private or delete the photo/profile

Private Profile

If you set the profile to private, your profile URL, name on the profile, and the main display photo will still be considered public and may still result in the photo appearing in Google search. You can update your photo to something that isn't of you.

Google search results will reflect the update once Google updates their search results. There is no time frame for how often this occurs.

The profile or photos must be deleted from Myspace before a request can be submitted to Google to update their search results.

If the profile and photos have already been deleted, but are still appearing without an error page, follow the below instructions.

Image CDN Link'sIn order to assist with your request, we will require the CDN linksfor the images you need to be removed. Below are the steps to obtain the links.

Step 1Go to the Google Search Results

Step 2Click on the Image that is still appearing on Myspace

Step 3There should be two options, Visit page and View Image. Select View Image to see if the image is still active on Myspace. If the image is still active, copy the URL. The URL should look similar to the one in the image below:

If you select View Image and you are directed to a 404 error page,you can submit your request to Google to have the images removed from their search results.Go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals to submit your request.

Select Visit page to see if the profile is still active.

*if you do not see the option, right-click the photo and select "Copy Image Address". This will save the CDN link we need.

Step 4Once you have gathered all the image URL's you would like removed, fill out this form.

What Next?You will receive a confirmationemail once we have deleted the image(s).You will need to submit the image URL's to Google to have them completelyremoved from their search results. Go to to request removal.

Photos

There is no way to save all your photos all at once. You can save each photo one at a time.

Click on the image

Rick-Click and select Save Image As...

Decide where to save the image, enter a name for the file, and select Save

Music/Video

We now offer a way to download songs and videos with the file type MP4 and M4A. Unfortunately, these are the only file types available to download.

Visit Uploads->Music from a desktop computer

Select the pencil icon Uploads->Videos directly to the right of the song

You can also download the song/video by hovering over the connect icon and selecting download

If you do not see the option to download the file, that means the file format is not available to download.

All FLV files can no longer be played due to a player update. We updated our player to HTML5. Unfortunately, we do not offer away to play or download these videos.

*Make sure you always have an extra copy of the content you uploaded. Although you can download your content, it's important to always have a backup.

Unfortunately, the option to download blogs is no longer available. This feature has been sunsetted.

If you're seeing Events on an artists profile it's because that data was ingested to our site via SeatGeek. If your artist profile has Events which need to get updated or removed, find the artist page on SeatGeek and then submit a correction. We currently do not offer an events platform. If you would like your events to display under the events tab of your profile, please reach out to SeatGeekto get this setup.

To further support creative expression, we are adding the ability to let users prominently feature a selection of content directly on their profile. A specific example could be a design or photography portfolio, or for a musician, a new song or album that they wish to promote.

How do I get started?

Go to your Myspace profile and select Portfolio in the Profile Navigation to your left and click Create Portfolio.

Within the Edit Screen, you have the option to select one large piece of content and up to 30smaller ones. Other than that, its all up to you and your imagination to determine what should be added. Select from Mixes, Songs, Albums, and Videos. You can even add GIFs.

What can I feature on my Profile?

Myspace allows you to not only feature your own content on your profile but also the content you are connected to. Present a customized gallery of work, share what you love and get noticed.

Photos and Gifs

Choose photos you have uploaded to Myspace and photos that you are connected to. The more photos you have connected to, the more creative options you will have available. Present your latest portfolio or tell the world more of your story through pictures.

Video

Choose videos you have uploaded or search for videos on the site that you think belong front and center on your profile.

Mixes

Have a particular mix that you think should be promoted on your profile? Choose from any of your own or connected mixes to share with your audience.

Songs

If you have a new track to share with fans, or maybe just search for a few songs that you think goes well with some of your other featured work, this is the place to do it. Remember you can swap them out at any time so its up to you.

Albums

Are you dropping a new album? Put it front and center for your audience to enjoy. If you are a music influencer amongst your friends, help them out by sharing your collection of favorites.

What do I do when I am done?

Simply select Finish editing to exit Edit Mode and see you finished portfolio.

Do I have to use all 31 spaces?

Of course not! It's up to you and what you feel best showcases you and your presence on Myspace. Use all, five, or none of them. We want you to have control over what you look like to the world on Myspace.

How do I change my Portfolio?

At any time you can go back and swap out, or delete the content you are featuring in your portfolio. Select the pencil icon to enter Edit Mode and re-arrange your portfolio. Keep your portfolio fresh and your audience will love you for it.

If you change your mind about an account type, click on the account type to unselect it.

To protect the rights of artists, Myspace maintains a Copyright Filter that blocks uploaded content registered by rights holders. If you have permission to upload content that needs to unblocked, youll need to submit a dispute form for Myspace to review.

How do I dispute a block?Click on the Copyright Claims link, find the content block you want to dispute, and then click on Dispute. Fill out the required fields as well as any additional information you might have regarding the blocked content. We now offer a way to download songs and videos with the file type MP4 and M4A. Unfortunately, these are the only file types available to download.Once other file formats are available, we will update this post.

Myspace offers users the ability to easily embed music onto third party sites. In order to embed a audio track that has been uploaded to Myspace, first hover over the Connect button to display your action menu option

By clicking on the hyperlink URL or the embed code, Myspace will automatically copy the contents of the field to your clipboard. The rest is up to you to share on your website, blog, or other third party site.

Your account settings are located in your footer next to your Messages and Notifications. Click on the Settings Icon Sign Out to open your account menu options

The settings for your profile include the following items

Account : Edit your Account Information, Change your Email or Password, Account Type, Account Deletion, and more.

Privacy : Change your Profile Privacy Settings

Notifications : Update your email notification settings

Invitations : Invite friends to join Myspace via email, Facebook, and Twitter

Applications : Sync your Myspace account with Facebook and Twitter

: Signs you out of your Myspace account

Go to your stream and start typing in the What's the latest? box at the start of your stream

A post can only have a song, video, link, or photo. You cannot combine any of the four together in a single post.

Decide what posts are shared to Facebook and Twitter

You can post from Myspace to Facebook and Twitter but not from Facebook and Twitter to Myspace

A member must be connected to you in order for you to post to their stream and vice versa

If you have located an account using your name and image, first make sure this is indeed a fake account and not a profile that once belonged to you. If the account is fake, please follow these steps to have the profile removed.

Hover over the profile image and click on the connect icon

Select Report from the menu

Select This is me! > This profile is pretending to be me

Click on Report

*Make sure you report the fakeaccount using your own personal account, so we may verify identity and proceed

When sharing content youhave the option to choose what you want to share with Facebook.

In order to do so, just click the Facebook or Twitter icon at the bottom of the post to turn this functionality on/off for that post. If you attempt this prior to syncing your account with Facebook or Twitter, you will be prompted to log into those applications and sync with Myspace. You will be unable to share via Facebook or Twitter until that process is complete.

Remember, at any time you can disconnect Facebookfrom Myspace through youpage.

To upload a song or audio track to Myspace, follow the steps below.

From a desktop computer go to the upload section for music

Click Upload songs or simply drag and drop the file(s) into the designated area

Select the file(s) from your computer

Fill out the required fields

Select Save

Account Type

Once you upload music and it is public on your profile you will get a catalog page where users can discover and play your music. Your must be listed as Musician, DJ/Producer, Comedian, or Venue to get a catalog page.

Keep in mind

Supported file types are WAV, MP3, AIF, FLAC, AAC

If a file fails to upload, make sure the fileisn'tcorrupt and Upload it again

When playing your music from the Upload page, the player will turn purple and the activitywon'tappear in your stream

The highest streaming bit rate for music uploaded after May, 01, 2013 is 320kbps

This week we rolled out a brand new experience for our members to view their connections on Myspace.

What has changed?

We organized all the connection types at the top of your Connections area for easy navigation. This will help you easily locate anything that you connected to on Myspace.

We have also added a page called Recent Connections. Its is you Connections default page and is a great snapshot of the network you are building. This will help you quickly see what you have been connecting to, the date it happened, and the type of connection ( profile, song, picture, etc. ).

Is this change also on mobile or the App?

Not yet, but we are working on improving this experience for our members across all platforms.

What if I don't see this page on my profile?

If you don't see this new layout, there is no need to worry. There are millions of profiles to update on the site, and yours is just around the corner. If you think you should have this new layout by now, then let us know by clicking.

Minimum Age for using Myspace

Due to the legal restrictions imposed by the Child Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we are unable to collect information for any person under the age of 13. Users are required to be a minimum of 13 years of age in order to register for Myspace.

There are endless ways for you to discover music on Myspace, but here are a few options to get you started.

Search: You know who you want to listen toClick Search, located in the upper left hand corner of the screen.

Discover: Show me what I should be listening to.Go to the Discover page and browse Featured for the latest and greatest music out there, or Music to browse popular artists, albums, and songs.

Your Stream: A personalized collection made from your connections.Click on your Home Stream to see what your connections are listening and connecting to.

Radio: Lean back and let us do the work for you.Check out our radio stations where you can listen to artist radio, genre radio, and your own radio station.

From artist catalogs to similar songs, the rabbit holes are endless for discovering new music on Myspace.

Search is located in the upper left hand corner of the site and can be accessed at any time, from any page. We allow you to search across all verticals of the site at once so that you can quickly locate their song, the artist, and their profile all at once. You may also discover some of their other stuff while doing it.

Search by email address, name, or username.

And, if you are extra inpatient, just start typing at any point when you are on the site to activate the search screen. It doesn't get easier than that.

Our stream is your homepage. Here youll see all of the activity and updates from the people and things you connect with on Myspace. Discover new music and socialize through the stream with your friends and connections. Post updates, share an image, share a song, album, video or mix to your stream and engage with your connections.

You can access your stream at any time by clicking Stream.

What shows up in my Stream?

Your stream is filled with the activities of your connections. Only profiles that you are connected to will be visible in your stream. If at any time you want to hide a profile from your stream, hover over their picture and click Disconnect from the menu.
