Sheila Ryan-Macie — Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President of External Relations & Corporate Marketing at Navient Corporation

Ms. Sheila Ryan-Macie serves as the Chief of Staff at Navient Corporation and has been its Senior Vice President of External Relations and Corporate Marketing since March 29, 2017. Ms. Ryan-Macie is responsible for strategic projects and external relations that support business growth as well as enhance customer experience and success at Navient. Previously, she served as Senior Vice President of Operations Administration and Chief of Staff for Sallie Mae. At Sallie Mae, she created and managed tactical and strategic plans for all facets of the organization. She played a leadership role in rolling out enhanced servicing and online tools as well as dedicated service to military customers and their families. Prior to rejoining Navient Corporation in 2011, she worked with a variety of organizations committed to expanding educational access. As Managing Director at Aurora Consulting, she helped boards of directors and executive management teams with corporate and regulatory strategy and rebranding. In 2001, she started working for America's Charter School Finance Corporation, where she served as Vice President of Programs and Administration. She first joined Navient Corporation in 1999 upon its acquisition of Nellie Mae, where she served as Vice President of Federal Relations and Corporate. She also served at a bank in the Student Loan Department. She serves on the board of Building Hope. Ms. Ryan-Macie has a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Master of Science in Management and a Master of Science in Regulatory Affairs, Biotechnology and Pharmaceuticals.
