Mr. Stephen M. Hauber also known as Steve, has been Chief Risk & Compliance Officer at Navient Corporation since June 2017 and serves as its Senior Vice President. Mr. Hauber served as the Chief Audit Officer of Navient Corporation until June 2017. Mr. Hauber oversaw the internal audit function and is responsible for the examination, evaluation and independent assessment of Navient's internal control system and was an Advocate for customers and other stakeholders. He served as Vice President of Portfolio Reporting & Analysis of Navient Corporation since February 2008. He also served as Senior Vice President of Navient Corporation, directing the internal audit functions of it and Sallie Mae Bank. In 2003, he joined Sallie Mae, where he held roles in internal audit and credit risk management. He also worked for Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young as an Audit Manager. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Hauber received both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master's Degree of Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
