Executive Bio

Mr. Alexander Paul, also known as sandy, serves as Senior Managing Director of National Market Research at Newmark Knight Frank. Mr. Paul joined Newmark Knight Frank in March 2015. He has 17 years of professional experience, including 13 years at Delta Associates. He served as executive vice president at Delta Associates and was responsible for client project management, business development, oversight of the firm's publications and media outreach. He also managed consulting engagements for corporate clients, authored white papers and spoke at industry events, including the firm's annual TrendLines forecast conferences. From 2005 to 2013, he was responsible for the national research activities that Delta Associates performed for its affiliate, Transwestern. During that period, he led the research and analysis teams for ten metropolitan areas, tracking real estate markets and regional economies. Before joining Delta Associates, he was a consultant with Fairfax, where he focused on new business development with public sector clients. He served as an associate with Coopers & Lybrand in New York City, where he concluded business incentive agreements between private sector firms and economic development agencies. He is a guest lecturer at Georgetown University's and George Mason University's graduate programs in real estate. He has been quoted by such major publications as the Washington Post, Washington Business Journal and Commercial Property Executive and on WAMU, a Washington affiliate of National Public Radio. He authors white papers on current trends in commercial real estate, whether they are specific to the Washington, DC, market or affect the market nationally. He also produces and speaks at NKF events designed to highlight trends and opportunities in commercial real estate. In 2012, he was awarded the CRE credential by the Counselors of Real Estate for outstanding integrity and judgment in real estate counseling. Mr. Paul earned a Master of Public Policy degree from Duke University's Terry Sanford Institute and a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College.
