Mr. John Raven has been the Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Technology Officer of Newtek Business Services Corp. since January 1, 2016. In addition, Mr. Raven serves as President and Chief Operating Officer at Newtek Technology Services. Mr. Raven serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Telco Billing Inc. Mr. Raven served as the Chief Operating Officer of Managed Technology Solutions at Newtek Business Services Corp. since April 6, 2015. Most recently, Mr. Raven offered Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer consulting services to Looksmart, Ltd. and Clickable. He served as Chief Operating Officer of LiveDeal, Inc. (Formerly YP Corp.) from July 2005 to February 15, 2009. He served as the President of LiveDeal, Inc. until February 15, 2009. Prior to that, he served as a Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer Consultant for IBM Global Services and its elite IBM Export Blue Team where he provided information technology architect services. Mr. Raven has experience in software engineering, data and process architecture, systems development and database management systems. He served as Chief Technology Officer of YP Corp. from September 2003 to June 2005 and also served as its Secretary, President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Raven served as Chief Operating Officer of RIGL Corp. since June 2005. Mr. Raven also served as Director of Information Technology for Viacom's ENG Network division, where he worked from 1996 to 1999. Mr. Raven has more than 10 years experience in the technology arena and 25 years of overall leadership experience working with companies such as Perot Systems (PER), Read-Rite Corp. (RDRT), IBM and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young (CAPMF). Most recently, he served as member of senior account management for Perot Systems and directed the development of information security strategy for its client Catholic Healthcare West. Prior to Perot Systems, Mr. Raven served as senior director of information technology operations for Read-Rite Corp., where he worked from 2000 to 2003. He held various positions at Southern Texas PCS (T-Mobile) and Viacom, Inc. He spent 12 active years and 10 reserve years with the United States Army, serving as a soldier and combat veteran in the Infantry and Special Operations. He managed the global information technology operations for Read-Rite, which included datacenter operations, service management, telecommunications, networks, computer-integrated manufacturing, supply chain technology, enterprise resource planning and information security. He has held several leadership positions with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Viacom, from 2000 to 2002 and Sol Communications. At NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Mr. Raven served as team member and information systems engineer for the historic 1997 mission to Mars conducted with the Pathfinder space vehicle and the Sojourner surface rover. He is a veteran information security specialist, technology executive and entrepreneur with a long successful history from start-up to mature large-scale enterprises. He specializes in monthly subscription-based customer acquisition strategies, telecommunications, large-scale datacenter design and operations supporting corporate enterprises and Internet facing high-tech companies. Mr. Raven has expertise in large-scale server, storage and network virtualization and abstraction technologies. Mr. Raven received his Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from the California Institute of Technology in 1991. His certifications include Cisco Internetwork Engineer, Project Management from the Project Management Institute, Certified Project Manager from Perot Management Methodology Institute, Microsoft Certified System Engineer and Certified Novel Engineer.
