He joined Allergan, Inc. in April 1995 as Senior Vice President, U.S. Eye Care and served in that capacity until April 1996. He served as an Executive Vice President of Allergan, Inc. from October 2003 to February 1, 2006 and also served as its Corporate Vice President since April 1996. He was at Syntex Corporation for 12 years, where he held a variety of positions including President of Syntex Inc. and Senior Vice President for Syntex Laboratories. Mr. Ball served as the President of Syntex Canada. He started his career in the healthcare industry with Eli Lilly and Company. Mr. Ball served as a Director of Hospira Inc. since March 28, 2011. Mr. Ball served as Director of Kythera Biopharmaceuticals, Inc from September 2013 to October 1, 2015. He served as a Director of STEC, Inc. from October 2000 to September 2013. He served as a Director of IntraLase Corp. since July 25, 2006. Mr. Ball holds a B.S. in Life Sciences and an MBA in Marketing from Queen's University, Canada and completed an executive management program at Stanford University.
