Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at Northrop Grumman Corporation

Environmental Sustainability

As a global security company, we understand that the conservation of natural resources and the mitigation of environmental impacts are vitally important for the protection of this generation and those to come. Our corporate values strongly support environmental sustainability and our greeNG Program is leading the charge on turning these ideals into action for the company. Through corporate programs and sector executed projects, we are helping to drive long–term affordability and provide value to our customers and shareholders by reducing our environmental footprint and improving operational efficiency.

The importance of environmental sustainability to the company and our leadership is demonstrated by its inclusion as one of the company’s six non-financial performance metrics. This metric is measured in terms of reductions in absolute greenhouse gas emissions and potable water use, and improvement in solid waste diversion. The Policy Committee of our Board of Directors receives periodic updates on the program, performance against these goals, and oversees the program’s alignment with Northrop Grumman's strategic objectives.

Community Impact and Philanthropy

Northrop Grumman’s philanthropic initiatives focus on building meaningful partnerships that transform our communities. Working with our dynamic partners, we strive to support the diverse needs of the communities where we live and work through giving from the company, the Northrop Grumman Foundation and employees. Our core areas of focus include education, military and veterans, health and human services, and environmental stewardship.
